Who's on your 2028 Olympic Flag Football Team? Your center can be any O or D player. It's 3 years away so I'm going with a young team.

C: Penei Sewell
QB: Jayden Daniels or CJ Stroud
WR/RB: Puka Nacua
WR/RB: Bijan Robinson
WR/RB: Jahmyr Gibbs or Drake London

DB: Trent McDuffie

I wonder how much interest many NFLers will actually have in this.

There are already tons of interest. Top players are very excited about the chance to win a gold medal. Several NFL players have expressed interest in potentially playing flag football in the 2028 Olympics, including Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, Justin Jefferson, and Rob Gronkowski.

And that could just all be talk with the news coming out today. It's a fun idea and there will definitely be NFL interest, but I'm not so sure we'll see a roster full of All-Pro caliber players.

So cynical. ;)

nice of the olympic committee to give the US an automatic gold medal

canada is the only competition they'd have

This whole idea is so dumb. No one cares about flag football and putting it in the Olympics is embarrassing. On the other hand, the Olympics are already a joke anyhow.

First time a star player tears an acl that will be the end of this, at least for high level players. Also aren't the Olympics usually during training camp?
The type of guys that will be at the Olympics don’t need to be at training camp anyways.

We know the why here, it gets NFL players on a global stage, even if it’s not actual NFL football. The injuries that happen will suck, but this is an investment.

I’d bet there will be very relaxed regulations when it comes to eligibility. If you passed through an airport, you’ll be eligible for that country.

Flag fields are super narrow. You need deep speed to stretch defenses properly.

QB. Lamar is the lock of locks to be the best player on the field. Kyler would be my 2nd choice.
FLEX Brock Bowers I have this vague memory that he can Snap, so I'm going with it. Perfect underneath guy with YAC ability.
FLEX Ja'Marr Chase. You watch NFL players struggle to judge his play speed. Flag guys will have no prayer.
FLEX Brian Thomas Jr. Some guy from Australia is going to spin around like a cartoon top the first time he tries to get his hands on him at the line.
FLEX Nico Collins. I'm not wasting a spot on a RB. No one is covering these 4 even if they drop 5. They're all big enough to solve the End Zone problems with physicality too.

DB: Derwin James. The best rushers are going to be DBs. I want Hamilton in my secondary and I think Derwin is a cleaner projection to this role than McDuffie or Budda Baker.
CB: Patrick Surtain. Clamp #1
CB: Derek Stingley. Clamp #2
DB: Kyle Hamilton. Playmaker #1
DB: Cooper DeJean. Playmaker #2

There are no Linemen in this format. There is a Snap, so you need someone who can do that in some form. I can't figure out how to clearly solve that one. I can't think of a TE that played Center in CFB or HS.

You also can't run the ball in short yardage or in close to the Goal Line, so you probably don't want the 2nd RB.

1. I said anyone can play C. Also, C is the official name of the position.

2. RBs can catch passes. Also, WR Drake London is 1 of my 2 choices for WR/RB 3.

Yep, because they snap the ball. But then they run out to catch a pass.

I just want to be clear that if you're in favor of sending Sewell out for passes, I would enjoy the hell out of that as well.

Likely that CFL players are unavailable during Summer Olympics since it happens in July when CFL season is in full swing. So Canada is going to be in tough.

QB - Kurtis Rourke (Brett Rypien)
C/TE - Theo Johnson
RB/WR - Chase Brown (Chuba Hubbard)
WR - Josh Palmer
WR - John Metchie (Jared Wayne)

Rush - Tavius Robinson (Michael Hoecht/Jesse Luketa)
CB - Benjamin St. Juste
CB - Deane Leonard
S - Jevon Holland
S - Sydney Brown (Jonathan Sutherland)

If it's all NFL players, it'd be something like that for Canada
