wouldn't mind Schultz or Wisniewski on the Preds depending on how much they're asking.

Same for Hudler.

Is there any chance guys like Doan and Elias sign with other teams or are they just waiting it out for a bit?

Don't know about Doan, but Elias is on record saying if he doesn't come back to NJ, he's retiring. He's waiting until September to decide after seeing how he is feeling.

I could see us signing a short term contract with Hudler (1-2 years) if there are minimal other offers for him. He had success with Johnny and Monahan, and could likely be put on Bennett's line to help him like he did with the other kids.

Is Hudler only looking for long term deals?

Why do you guys expect his cap hit to be whether it's short or long?

Pretty much. All he does is block shots and he does that because he never has the damn puck. He certainly doesn't add any size to your blueline either.

Toronto dodged a bullet with him turning down that horrible offer. I don't think it would be a good idea for NYR either (you're a Rangers fan right?), not unless they're able to move Staal and/or Girardi.

I Don't believe this for a minute. The leafs are like a cone of silence
nothing gets reported from them. This is just some random blogger
trying to get hits by mentioning something to do with the leafs.

Exactly what do teams see in Kris Russell that we fans don't?

I think what happens...and this is why you see guys like strait getting money is because GMs want a known quantity. Maybe the young guns aren't ready or even if they are the GM doesn't have the balls to play them full time.

But these guys never help you win. They fill up cap space and become a liability

Jiri Hudlery to the Habs please!

Ship DD anywhere, which frees up a spot for Hudler, who is definitely an upgrade over Davey...

Roll with this for the season:

Pacioretty - Galchenyuk - Radulov
Hudler - Plekanec - Gallagher
Carr - Shaw - Andrighetto
Danault - Mitchell - Byron

Beaulieu - Weber
Markov - Petry
Emelin - Pateryn

Price - Montoya

I wouldn't mind having Kris Russell, but only if Emelin is moved. Wouldn't want to give him anything more that what Emelin makes though, for 3 years tops.

Yeah it was probably leaked by Boston to something in tune of this

Sweeney we will offer your client 4 x 3yrs

Agent yeah no we just turned down an offer from Toronto for 4.25 x 4

Agent was just spit balling and trying to jack up the price.

No truth to the rumour.

The Isles should've signed Hudler, I'd take him over both Ladd and Chimera tbh.

Also, Gagner was good in the playoffs imo, surprised no one signed him yet, could be a good 3 C on a playoff team.

Have all the people bashing Russell actually watched him play? He's definitely not worth $17/4 so it's surprising he turned that down, but he is by no means a terrible player. He's a decent option for the 2nd pairing and he's a great puck mover, not afraid to sacrifice his body, and he was a good leader on the Flames too.

No way Leafs offered Russel a 4 year deal at that number. More than likely his agent using a Toronto rumour to get his client a 5 year deal somewhere. Nothing gets leaked out of Toronto these days.

He would be a younger Dennis Seidenberg in Boston and a more active shot blocker which the NHL does not like. :)
