Hold on a minute -- it's nearly the end of August and we're bound to get the Drouin PR Blitz where the media re-iterates Drouin's dedication to his and his team's success.
Same old song and dance, the reality is he’s not an NHL player, never was.

For starters, playing close to 82 games would be a breakthrough. If healthy, hitting 60 points would also be a breakthrough. Being more consistent all-around would also be.

Let's see if MSL can work his magic. Drouin has played a grand total of 2 games under him. If we ever grt a sorta Drouin 2.0, we'll truly have to start considering MSL as a miracle man.
Even if Drouin scores 60 points he’s useless because he hurts the team more than he helps. Way rather have a 40 point player in the top 6 who doesn’t hurt us. Just him being here makes us weaker.

We're going to sign Subban and he's going to win his second Norris 10 years after the first. Greatest comeback in the history of the game

I'm going to say Gallagher, he has been a warrior throughout his career. The others are lucky they are still part of an active NHL roster and thank BargainBin for their generous earnings.

Fun Fact: These 5 players make more per year ($23.3 MM) than McJesus & Drai combined ($20MM)

That’s f***ing incredible

McDrai will provide 90 goals 200 pts+ every season.

Those 5 players cummulatively only played 244 of their 410 games last season.

But even if we prorate at 82 games each, with their current production rates, they would give us 62 goals and 166pts.

Thank god the garbageman era is over

...post #61 in this thread, for example, the exact post you chirped me for bringing up Floaty bailing on his team, just like he did with Tampa, just like he tried with the Mooseheads...as for the "misfortune" comment; I'm a grandfather and a Disabled Veteran, sorry if I have zero pity for an entitled floater who has a history of bailing on his teams...

Stating that the dude is so obsessed with hockey that it had a nefarious effect on his mental health is me making excuses for him? You're going to have to explain that one to me because I still think he sucks as a player. That doesn't mean that there aren't real reasons to his struggles and sorry but what I stated is more realistic and actually sourced as opposed to 'DUR HE QUIT ON THE TEAM DUR BECAUSE HE DOESN'T CAAAAAREE DUR' despite the fact that there hasn't been a single instance of poor attitude reported from Drouin since he's been with the Canadiens. Not to mention that if he really wanted to quit on the team, going through the motions on the ice would be a far more favorable way to go about it (for him) than publically taking a leave of absence at the peak of the season.

Oh and you being in a worse position than him (nor am I sure what being a grandfather has to do with anything) doesn't mean that his problems aren't real or aren't worthy of sympathy. That's an absurd position and reeks of bitterness.

Point out to me where I made a single excuse for him.

Or are you just going to respond with some cringy gif? I truly hope no one ever has the misfortune of needing you.
...connect the highlighted from your posts and you might actually grasp it...as for the rest, it's again just excuses...it's the pressure of playing in Montreal (just like it was in Tampa & Halifax, right?), it's his wrist, it's his linemates, it's his deployment, its blah blah blah...when does the onus eventually get to "it's him"??...

As long of anyone of the players who are on an expiring contract does well, doesn’t really matter who. I can’t get myself to care for any of them.

Too bad Halak is not in the choices.
Remember when the letters HALAK replaced STOP on a red exagon sign?
Yes. But after he left, we disposed of the stop signs.
