From day one of this season Nylander has led the way with consistently strong performances.

Marner has been great during his points streak but my vote goes to Nylander.

"So far!"

I'll assume that means from start of season till now, if so then it's easy. MM is one of, if not the most versatile player in the league this year, I actually thought the same thing last year, but most people see goals as the ultimate measure of a players worth When Mitch is really working his magic the Maple Leafs are one of the hardest teams in the league to take a point from.

I really feel like it’s splitting hairs, likely based on personal preferences, between Matthews, Marner and Nylander this season. They are all playing at such a high level. Very strong cases can be made for any of the 3

Yeah, I went other for that reason.

marner was a media darling due to his point streak.
Matthews carries positive baggage.
Who is that other guy?

The team MVP's from my stance.

#1 Marner. His overall compete level, his pk skills, blocking shots high in the slot, 100 point player etc
#2Nylander. He can be the second half MVP if he remains competing as hard as he has in the last 15 games.
#3 Matthews . Slow start, looked out of shape, given his 60 goal bar level he set. Can be 1a or 1b with Marner at any moment.

Toss up between Willy and Mitch overall .. both bring different elements to team which are needed .. then Matty who is really coming on strong as he gets into perfect game shape .. Matty was flying last night and really tilted us for us as our best player last night (but he was not ready to start year and 1st 10 games he was shedding weight)

I don’t think there is any evidence to support that claim, but ok

Nylander no question, hands down. No debate allowed.

Leading in goals scored.
Done so with less ice time than Marner or Matthews
Matthews +19 Nylander +16 Marner +3
Tied with Matthews in PTS and trailing Marner only by a single point in same games.

Just look up and down the stats it's pretty obvious he is the man this year.

The two that stick out for me when comparing the top four are giveaways and takeaways.

Marner - 43 - 36
Matthews - 33 - 34
Tavares - 30 - 28
Nylander - 17 - 32

and to be fair:
Kampf - 15 - 28

I told you guys back in preseason when I found out .. i have a drinking buddy who i played junior with up in sudbury who works in mlse sports science group .. these guys test out all mlse athletes for many different things .. i did ask if he was injured in summer and couldn't work out but did not get an answer back so I assume that is likely what occurred as kid is apparently highly motivated

He's just barely starting to shoot again, I'm surprised the injury angle hasn't been a bigger talking point. I can't tell if it's the wrist again or a core injury like his back where he can't get full body torque on the shot.

This year? Marner, and not particularly close either.

I know Willy has had a good year offensively, but he doesn't bring all the other things Mitch does.

Matthews 2nd, Willy 3rd, Goalies collectively 4th.
