I put Hagens but in truth, I would want martone most. He fits the need best as we need more size. Cherny, Haltunnen, and Musty are good size wingers (graf and lund are OK too), but even if 1 or 2 of those guys really hits and becomes to 9 forwards, we need SIX top 9 wings and we currently have a bona fide, proven, long term 1 (eklund... toffoli is not long term).
As I mentioned before, if we get 3, I think it pays to trade up or down. Some team in the 5-7 range is likely to be desperate and really prefer one of the hagens/desnoyer/obrian mix. If a team feels very strongly about one of them and doesnt want to risk losing, they may be willing to trade up.
Barring trading up for Schaefer, For me, the absolute ideal if we get #3 would be to trade down to #5-7 for a late 1st, and then pick Martone. I could imagine Nashville or philly making such a move (NAS could be #5, PHI #7 if they both lose the lottery too, like if two of CHI/BOS/SEA/BUFF/ANA/NYR win). Philly at 7 especially could be desperate to move up as they would hate to miss out on all those guys.
Hagens-Desnoyers-Obrian-Frondell-Martone would be the likely 3-7 in some order, with Mrtka in there possibly too. I could see philly giving up one of thier late 1sts to move up, and if the sharks got martone at #7 or Frondell and a 1st, it wouldnt be terrible.
The sharks could then try to package that late first, and the dallas first, and the ottawa 2nd to move up to near 9-10 if Mrtka falls a bit (ANA has just 2 picks in the first two rounds, so they might be willing to take the package and pick 4 times in the first two rounds).
Walking away with Martone (at 6/7), Mrtka (at 9/10) in the first round (and still getting a late 1st round talent faller at #33) would be a nice consolation prize for missing out on Schaefer.
