Lot of discussion for Hart. Who would you rather have on your team? Teams have different needs so how might each of these players impact your team in the best fashion?

The obvious answer is both. Why not include that option in the pole?
Shoot. You are correct.
Literally the title was intended to imply: which one of MacKinnon or Kucherov would make your team better?. I realize that the wording of the title could be difficult to interpret so I’m glad you mentioned, although I can’t edit it.

My intial thought was MacKinnon due to the fact we have Fantilli and that seems like the perfect guy for him to learn from but... The more I think about it the tougher it becomes. Short-term it's pretty tough but long-term I think it may be MacKinnon

It will partly come to a team need.

Jets are stronger on wings than down the middle.

While Kucherov feeding Connor is enticing, I will pick running MacKinnon-Scheifele down the middle.

For the Sens, Tkachuk-Stützle-Kuch would be deadly beyond recognition. Having Stu as a 2C behind MacKinnon is still excellent, but I think our C depth is strong enough where I'd take Kuch. For the Flames, MacKinnon for sure. Flames desperately need a 1C, and even better that he's a RHS.

2C is probably the Blues' weakest position, so I take the center.

MacKinnon, Thomas, Schenn, Sundqvist down the middle is pretty darn good.

Holloway - MacKinnon - Kyrou would be insane speed for a single line.

It's funny - I generally always lean Kucherov > Mack in these comparisons, but I still voted MacK. Center just feels more valuable

Any given year these two have stretches where they can be the best player in the league. Both would tremendously improve any team.

MacKinnon for me, but having Kucherov feeding Tage would be something special

I would take Mack and move Malkin to wing. Pens have cerebral playmakers, albeit old ones. What we need is a horse that can carry the puck end to end.

I guess you can't go wrong with either one, they both instantly makes all teams playoff teams/contenders or legit cup favs.

For the Leafs I'd personally prefer Kucherov to feed Matthews and Knies and basically at that point our 2nd/3rd lines having one of Marner/Nylander would absolutely feast.

You really can't go wrong though and very few teams have solid center depth to be able to take Kuch.

MacKinnon the smart choice for 90+% of teams, but Kucherov so much more fun to watch IMO.

Mackinnon is the 2nd best player in the NHL in my opinion. I think him and McDavid are the two most dominant players when they are on the ice. Kucherov is an amazing player too though, I doubt anyone would complain about having either guy.

I think you always, always have to take the center
I was going to say except when you already have top notch centres.....but I decided I agree with you for the most part. You can always play a Centre at wing, but vice versa doesn't really work.

But this would only be the tiebreaker of course. For example, you don't take Strome over Ovechkin because Strome is a centre. And I'm talking prime for prime...ignoring current ages.

This current question is a good one though

See....lots of people might say the complete opposite...perhaps toss up and then suggest MacKinnon because he's more fun to watch. This is subjective of course, but I think MacKinnon is the most fun player to watch in the NHL right now. Him and McDavid are similar in terms of that, blazing speed coming up the ice (which is what I find most fun to watch). McDavid is slightly more smooth with the puck at times as he's coming up the ice, but what pushes me to go with MacKinnon in terms of most fun is his tendancy to just be a rock. I've seen him skating up and when you think he puts himself in a bad spot and gets lined up perfectly for a big hit....and not just when you think....it does happen, but he'll take that head on hit and then other guy goes flying a lot of the time. I don't know why I love watching that so much, but I love watching guys get hit with big clean hits, but even more fun, I like seeing a guy where you think he's going to get blown up only to see the other guy hit him hard, but not have any effect....I think it's more something that causes me laughter....which is fun
