May I introduce you to my hot young friend Lou Lamoriello?I'd stop recycling guys such as Lavi and bring in a hot, young coach who's never been an NHL HC before.

Idk who she is but regardless i doubt there's gonna be a female employee in the nyr staff anytime soon.
Top 5 coach
Rangers legend Jeff Halpern is intriguing. Personally I don’t think any new coach, veteran or rookie, will succeed long-term unless the veteran core is significantly changed. Why should we expect anything other than a new coach bump in year 1, then a disorganized mess in year 2. It’s happened 3 times now. It’s the players.
Like George Steinbrenner and Billy MartinThis is a hot take but I would hire Torts.
The team is gonna suck and he's gonna be fired in two years, but the guys he leaves behind are gonna play a good brand of hockey and they're gonna be guys who wanna be here. Hopefully they set the tone for the next several sets of acquisitions and you get 3-6 years of having a good vibe.
I'm not looking for a magic man who has something nobody else has. The roster stinks. I just want some of the worst habits to be weeded out.
Quenneville has had ridiculous talent at his last two jobs. I don't trust it. I know Torts can work with shit and at least teach them something.
I don't know about succeed at least in the short term but if I was a coach coming in here I'd say to Drury "I need to be able to bench whoever I need to and have your support. If Zibanejad is dogging it and moping and whining I need to sit him down even if it takes all season"
The team hasn't been held accountable by any coach in years and anyone who comes in is going to have to change that and they're going to have to use the cudgels given to them by the position." You want icetime? Then listen up and play the way I'm telling you to. " knowing full well the players could try another revolt and that the season might turn to shit when you bench the troublemakers
If everyone wants to work, then great.
Wow. This sounds like one of my rants, lol. Most importantly, Drury does not get to select his fourth coach. Cut the head of the snake before moving forward. I will go to war with any number of potential candidates. Unrealistically I would put Valiquette in a position of authority. Coach? I’m still not there yet, maybe after QF series…
Dirty, the antithesis of a captain, the antithesis of a leader, the antithesis of a communicator, is presenting/posing as a painfully awkwardly emotionless Belichick-type (minus the preparation, substance, or results).
Drury is a diminutive creepy middle-management crony who would be making 73k/year organizing tax forms in CT if not for falling ass backwards into his regal regional hockey family.
f*** Drury as a player. f*** Drury as a leader. f*** Drury as a communicator.
Fire Drury.
yeah agreed, and the core group needs to either get its act together or get gone one way or another.A lot of folks aren’t going to want to hear this but if they are going to hire a coach like Halpern or Jay Leach (both guys who would be near the top of my list) it needs to be with the intention of letting him and Drury cook for a few years, and outlive these bum-ass, soft players. If they hire a rookie HC and turn around and fire the GM in a year, we’ll be looking for a new coach not long after. It’s the nature of the beast. There needs to be a unified message. Drury has had his ups and downs as GM but people act like he’s Yzerman or Kevyn Adams. 2 guys who’ve never made the playoffs but have had jobs longer than Pizza Man.
And not DolanHead coach doesn't matter as much as GM and the overall direction of the team.
The correct answer is: Not Drury.
Someone with “hockey lineage” and “name recognition”. Preferably over-60 and a card carrying Old Boys Club member. Thank you.
To hell with getting it together -- get gone is the solution. Build a younger core to compete in today's/tomorrow's NHL.yeah agreed, and the core group needs to either get its act together or get gone one way or another.
More like assistant owner lolI think sather is permanently "retired".
