Who wins the Conn Smythe Trophy?

Bouchard should be leading the Conn Smythe votes right now. Playing 25 and a half minutes a night without Ekholm. Tied for 4th in playoff scoring. 1st in points and goals for Dmen. Tied for team lead in goals. +7. Excellent advanced stats.

Connor has 20 ES points in 14 games, leads the league in points, ES points, primary points, xGF. It's his to lose. He'll probably be top 10 all-time in points, even if he doesn't get to 40 and top 2 all-time for ES points.

Thats true. Bouchard and McDavid are both having amazing playoffs so far. Even crazier is they're both doing it with minimal PP production.

He won because the voting happened before game 7 ended, before the third period even started I believe. Voters weren’t sure of the outcome and went with a sure bet.
He won because he was the far and away best candidate to win. Florida didn't have any one guy who stood out as most deserving. The only close to McDavid on the Oilers for part of the playoffs was Drai, and he had a quiet Finals comparatively.

This year, its looking like its McDavid's to win again, although there is plenty of time for things to change (including the Stars coming back in this series, its only 2-1). If it goes to an Oiler, its only Connor and Bouchard in the discussion at the moment. Who has been Florida's MVP? Is it a runaway, or is it like last year where they won by committee with nobody really standing out as the team MVP?

It'll be McDavid again.
Draisaitl has outside an chance if he has an amazing Finals.
IF it is the Panthers and the Oilers, it all depends on how the series goes. If Bob continues to be a wall, then it could be him, especially if the Panthers sweep / steals games. If McDavid continues the way is he now or even gets better, he will win. He won last year because if it was not for McDavid the Oilers do not push the series to 7 games down 0-3, aside from the fact he beat Wayne's assist record and got >40 points. Bob also got solved by the Oilers and got lit up like a Christmas tree in game 4.

Toronto is gonna go out and pay Bennett $11m this summer now.

3 of the below guys did not make the PO. Connor McDavid is third. McKinnon just loss with Team Canada against Denmark. One guy is still in the PO. 97 is just on another level.

Here's a more detailed look at the top 5 highest-paid players:
  • Auston Matthews (TOR): Center, $13.25 million annual cap hit.
  • Nathan MacKinnon (COL): Center, $12.6 million annual cap hit.
  • Connor McDavid (EDM): Center, $12.5 million annual cap hit.
  • Artemi Panarin (NYR): Left Wing, $11.64 million annual cap hit.
  • Elias Pettersson (VAN): Center, $11.60 million annual cap hit.
Right now, give me a team full of Bennett over a team full of Mathews any day of the week. And you know what, you won't have to pay them 11M each. More over, not 13,25M!

Idk..but I'm de-FIN-itely rooting for either A2 Lou O. Stereenin or Anton "Don't call me Chigurh" Lundell

todays pics: McDavid

But I don't see any pics?

I'll help.

Draisaitl has had a subpar playoffs by my eyes. Seems slow and has lost some of his finishing ability. It doesn't help that Knoblauch, in his infinite wisdom, has decided to give him the two worst forwards on the team as wingers, but still, you'd expect the Richard winner to have more than 6 goals in 14 games.

Agreed, although despite that, he’s done a great job of shutting down whoever the oppositions biggest offensive threat is.

Perhaps injury? Even his faceoffs are subpar compared to usual.

Subpar for Draisaitl’s standards for sure, and it’s kinda frustrating that he passes up(or the whole team) shots that he should shoot just because they’re not grade A chances.

Draisaitl's backwards baseball goal vs Vegas is the best goal of the payoffs, so he should just try to be more active with his chances.

I agree. If the one-timer isn't working, try something different. Be creative!
