Who wins the Atlantic?

Toronto vs Ottawa would be awesome, rooting interests aside.
Definitely. Although I think pretty much all of the possible match ups would be fun in the Atlantic. From that perspective, we can't go wrong with whatever match up we end up with. Although I'll always be scared of the Bolts!

I have to say that one of the best things about being a panthers fan is that we have bad blood with pretty much any team we play with which, whether we win or lose, makes things a lot more enjoyable...

...and now that you have Marchand, who is this Generation's epitamy of Bad Blood, makes it all the more fun... :biglaugh:

I can’t see the Panthers winning it.

They play like they don’t care about winning. Boring and amemic. Looks like they are just coasting.

On the other hand, Toronto and Tampa don’t seem to be playing their best hockey either….so who knows…

Battle of Ontario and Battle of Florida are my preferred matchups but Toronto against either Florida or Tampa again is fun. Battle of Tkachuks would be fun. Tampa/Ottawa would be fun. You're on the money about not going wrong with any possible matchup.

The Bruins may suck this year but maybe this year of no playoff hockey will be good for my health long term. Sit back and just enjoy some hockey.

Hey - why don't you take the example of your once and future captain and join us for the stretch: we're much more fun than the alternatives ;). Seriously, Marchand was great for us in his debut yesterday, though even as a cats fan he still looked odd in our jersey: like live photoshop...

There isn’t a bad matchup however it sorts out.
FLvTB goes without saying, while FLvTor would be a grudge playoff rematch. FLvOtt just always has a way of getting a bit (or a lot) nasty, that could be a real war over a playoff series.
Tor/Ott and FL/TB is probably what happens

I can appreciate the high level of hockey Florida plays and how cohesive everyone is but rooting for them? A bridge too far my friend

I'd root for you guys against the Leafs. How about that?

Leafs clearly don't want 1st, losing to the 2042 Cup Champs in San Jose.
Embarrassing to say the least, almost like the Leafs have a Hockey virus they can't shake.

Correct, the leafs have to look down the standings to find either of those teams.
Panthers are in 1st at .632. Leafs 2nd at .630. Lightning 3rd at .623,

Remember the Covid season which ended early and teams had uneven games played and were rightfully ranked by points %.

Although, you do have a point, all 3 teams are fairly equal, you can't say that the Leafs are way behind Florida and Tampa.

Leafs are currently 1st with 92 points.

Points% only matters in extreme circumstances like not everybody getting to play 82 games.

But short of a meteor hitting and killing the entire human race everybody will play 82 games so points% doesn't matter.
