2 non playoff teams from last season clash in an effort to established pure dominance.

The winner will enter the official start of the season at the top of the league.

The loser will be in an early hole as 30 teams will begin with 2 games in hand.

Certainly possible, the new coach bump is usually a thing.

That said if they get I think it comes after NJ because that is a MUCH better team as long as they are somewhat healthy

Yeah. Who knows, hockey is a funny sport where the worst team can beat the best team on any given night. It's long term success that really speaks to quality. I do think that both on paper and results this season, New Jersey will prove to be the better team this year.

Well if you read the rest of the post you qouted I did say if Buffalo gets their new coach bump, it comes after NJ assuming they are somewhat healthy.

They have had some solid runs, I still remember their 10 game win streak a few years back.
