If CGY is in a good position come playoffs I could see them looking at Kessel, not for any massive payment though. Flames are weakest at the RW position and have been for a long time. He would fit in great on the 2nd line IMO.I'm trying to find a team that could trade for Kessel. Logically some cap should be going back the other way and the team needs to believe that they can reach the playoffs. Obviously Yotes will get some picks in return aswell.
My best fit so far is Lucic, but I don't believe in it. Any takes?
No one should. He is done.

They would definitely keep Lucic for the playoffs, he's a beast when the games get physical. As things sit now the Flames would have enough deadline space without sending salary back.

He’s on 60pt pace on the worst team in the league. He’s not 2016 Kessel but he’s not done.
The problem is that you can't be giving Kessel first line minutes at even strength due to how terrible he is defensively. As a Pens fan who appreciates Kessel but knows he can never return to Pittsburgh because of the Sullivan thing, I'd like to see him go to the Oilers.
With one of Draisaitl or McDavid at ES plus regular PP time I think he's capable of being their 3rd best offensive option, ahead of RNH. And he never gets skunked in the playoffs - always produces something, and usually pretty well. Oilers don't have much in the way of proven playoff scorers.
Toronto is retaining salary off Phil, which I believe wouldn’t allow for a trade to the Leafs per CBA
Depends on if Monahan has any value to Arizona, if we are paying to dump him and paying to acquire someone like Bonino then I'd rather just keep Monahan as a 3/4C and maybe move him in the offseason. Monahan has been improving lately, if he keeps improving we might even get something back in the offseason without retaining. Also, I really haven't liked Zadorov so far but he might be more valuable in the playoffs when physicality becomes more important.I was thinking Monahan+ for Kessel(50%)
And maybe Calgary could look elsewhere for extra help(A vet 3rd/4th line C like bonino, better Dman than Zad) giving Monahan would give him a change of scenery and maybe Ari's W's will help him better than playing with the W's he's gotten this year, give us some cap flexibility to add more pieces
what city has the best dogs?

Phil was reportedly interested back in 2016
I thought it was just a for a year?Toronto is retaining salary off Phil, which I believe wouldn’t allow for a trade to the Leafs per CBA
Are we worried he wants to remain in AZ and zero chance at the playoffs?Worth noting that Phil has an 8-team trade list, although he could waive it.
