Who will end up as a better player: Bedard, Celebrini, Michkov, Demidov or Hutson?

Copium. Celebrini won the Hobey Baker while being Hutson’s team mate. You certainly interpret that as part of a grand conspiracy against the Habs?

Hutson is having an amazing season and should win the Calder, but this ignorance toward the impact of teammates on a given player’s performance is getting silly - especially considering Hutson was eclipsed by Celebrini just last year playing on the same team and with the same team mates.

Copium against an opinion? Get a hold of yourself, poor child.

Not sure why Michkov is even being mentioned here. Dude is the definition of a one way downhill skier. Goes missing for large patches of the season. Poor mans Debrincat. Expect to see him in the KHL sooner rather than later.

Weird to have Hutson in there as the only defenseman....

I think for points, Bedard, Michkov, Demidov, Celebrini
For complete play, Celebrini, Demidov, Michkov, Bedard

Demidov isn’t in the league yet. For me that ranks him at the bottom.
Hutson is amazing. He’s why the Habs have improved so much.

Michkov / Bedard
Celebrini / Demidov

Hutson
Almost had to get to the bottom of the page to find a sane answer.

Put down the recentcy bias koolaid people. Celibrini had an over all positive year. Like Jason Robertson did last year. You can't run on vibes every year. Bedard clearly has more upside.

Michkov/Demidov has been beaten to death. I think they're both elite and it will come down to which playstyle you prefer. Roughly equal game impact, in different ways.

Celebrini/Bedard I actually think is much the same. Both guys will be absolute elite but have very different playstyles. I don't know if it will be clear between them even in 10 years.

Overall I think Celebrini and Bedard will both end up more impactful players than Michkov/Demidov, but it's not a given.

Celebrini/Bedard
Michkov/Demidov

Hutson is outstanding and will be in the same tier of defencemen that those guys will be at forward. Comparing a D to F is always weird.

Celebrini has had periods of time where he looked better than Bedard ever has. Hutson has looked better than both, Michkov as well, albeit in more limited stretches. Demidov has looked better in the KHL than Michkov ever did, and while there's no guarantee that transfers, your ratings have zero justification whatsoever.

Who cares? Hobey Baker voterds are idiots. Hutson should have won pretty easily. Lok at the final 3 this year. Leonard (a choker). Howard and Buium. This is not a contest. Buium is easily a better player. he probably won't win though.

I don't think it's fair to compare a defenseman to a group of forwards.
And it's asinine to compare a guy who have never played on North American ice to Top 6 forwards.

I think Celebrini ends up the best. I see him as a future franchise C who makes a Top 5 case.
I expect Michkov to peak as an elite, offensively lethal winger in the mold of Panarin--but idk many "Top 10 Winger" seasons he'll actually have.
In my opinion, Bedard could become a gamebreaking winger if he's moved their permanently, and then he'd be better than Michkov. However, I expect the Hawks will shoehorn him as a Center, and he could top out as a 1bC.

But in all fairness, I said the exact same thing about MacKinnon back in 2016-17.
You nailed it but Get back to me in 2 yrs and i'll be better suited to answer the question.

This is probably the list I agree with.

I think Celebrini will become a high-end two-way #1 center capable of putting up ~100 points. Arguably the most valuable type of player in hockey. That's not to say he ever reaches McDavid, Ovy, Crosby etc production or level, but nonetheless, a player you build an entire team around.

Michkov has proven he'll be a #1 winger for a long time.

The other 3 I am less certain about mainly because I think their physical attributes will prevent them from being superstars you build a team around or in the case of Demidov, just pure uncertainty as to how he translates to the NHL game.

I brought up Corey Locke to demonstrate points don't matter in junior leagues (you were saying he would score 2p/gm). FWIW, I think he will come over and be good right away, but until that happens it's speculation, not fact.
Demidov would smash records in the CHL.

He's actually too good for that league.

You see what Michkov is doing? Demidov is even better.

Michkov, Demidov and Bedard will be 100+ point players, Celebrini I doubt it, probably at about Barkov level... scoring I mean, and not sure about defensive part of his game. Hutson is an offensive defenseman so it's hard to compare him to forwards.
I’m not sure why people are thinking Bedard will be a 100 point player. Celebrini’s been more impressive to me so far.

You’re absolutely right. Why aren’t we including Reinbacher in these rankings? He was drafted before Michkov so I’m surprised he wasn’t included.

Well I did kind of brain fart the last part but I mean it's true. I don't think you can say either way who will be better. For all we know, Demidov could adapt so well that he produces as well or better than Michkov and could end up playing a better all around game. Or he could struggle and end up as a solid second liner or low end first liner. Just too early to say.
Exactly.

Some players are more NHL ready and closer to their full potential as a rookie than other players. Jonathan Toews had a very good rookie season (on pace for 68 points) but his offensive production barely increased between his rookie season and his prime. Celebrini has been compared to Toews. I have a feeling Celebrini tops out at around 90 or less while being a good two way center. I still think Bedard in his prime will be a 50+ 100-110 point player.

Just found out Hutson doesnt PK. Another fake hybrid dman who only is out there for offense. Punt him down the list.
