Speculation: Who will be the next head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins?

Dubas likes to hire people he's familiar with, so it's a complete guess who he's going to pick.

I don't think Tocchet is coming here. He was unhappy with being involved with a rebuild in Arizona, and that's exactly what the Penguins are doing now.

Whether he is, or whether is he's not is pretty inconsequential to me. I don't want to stare at his face for an entire season and be reminded of Sully. Especially with him being Sully's best bud. No, I'd rather just a clean break from Sullivan and all reminders of him.
Oh, I agree but think about how good our defense will be when he's head coach...

Well the coach of Denver is one name most think he is on the rise. Exactly no retreads. Dubas moves and younger players certainly is where Dubas is heading.

Clean slate, please. I think Tocchet, Vellucci, and Gonchar are good coaches...and actually now that I think about it...in another timeline could have been a good coaching staff circa 2020. I just want completely new ideas and fresh eyes on players.

Obviously no to Torts, Lavy, Q, Quinn, etc.

I think the guy from Denver could be interesting, but the NHL is a whole different animal than NCAA. I wouldn't say 'no', but I can easily see it being a shitshow, too. I can definitely see Dubas and FSG going after him aggressively, though. Seems like a similar situation to FSG going after Dubas.

I'd be happy with one of the NHL AC / AHL HC types, but won't pretend to know any of their names or backgrounds.

I don't follow the league as closely as I used to, but who has been a recent NCAA coach success story that transitioned to the NHL?

I think the correct choice is Carle, but there needs to be an understanding that this is a longer-term, bridge between eras situation. The next two years kinda don't matter beyond trying to be as bad as possible to try and land a McKenna and/or Dupont for the organization. It's when this team's got a handful of those top 3 picks under its belt that the real meat and potatoes begins with development and building. Until then, we're all kinda just waiting until the team lands those franchise building block type of prospects.

OK I just clicked it out of morbid curiosity... AN HOUR AND A HALF?!?

I'm impressed a person can talk at such lengths about something he has absolutely no clue about.

How people have an hour and a half in their day to listen to Dingerski, no matter how rabid a Pens fan, is one of life’s greatest mysteries…I’ll never understand
