Who will be our next HC

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

I don’t think Tocchet is a bad X’s and O’s guy, but seeing what’s happened in Vancouver, that’s basically what happened here, except it was so untenable that a star player had to be moved.

Is Tocchet considered a players coach? He’s struck me as someone who’d be a prick

I think it would be f***ing hilarious to keep the longtime AGM/VP of the GM/President who was fired, while then replacing the recently fired head coach with his longtime assistant coach. Just amazing New Era of Orange optics top to bottom, leaving no stone turned.
Culture uber alles

Can't move star players if there are no star players.

I'd also like to see who people actually want to be the coach...so that way when they get who they want or didn't want we can refer back to and taunt.

I don't think Carle would sign here at all unless they hand him an insane record contract. They will almost certainly fail in their summer "big game" hunting quest, so it will be another year plus of pain for a coach to go through. They will want a coach that preaches accountability and structure, viewing that as key to development over offense. Whomever they hire won't last long regardless.

I think they would hire Tocchet first and backup might be Lappy with Shaw back as assistant and a new PP coach. I really think they will be as bad or worst next year.

Carle would have to be blown away to accept an nhl head coaching job when he is the god of his college program, makes a crap ton of money and has a young growing family. He can be there for the next 5 years minimum, probably longer if he wants.

Nhl Coaches are gone in 2-3 years.

its always the laziest outcome...every dam time

Someone worse than the above is functionally impossible, as you have Q on the list.

Voted Tocchet, but I do think there's the outside shot that it's Woodcroft.

That said, desperately trying to manifest either David Carle (unrealistic) or Jeff Halpern (maybe even possible?)
