Do not take into account expectations.

This is not the same as who you think our MVP was this season, but the player you select can be both your MVP and best player.

For example, one could argue that X player has been the best Blues player this year, but Y player is more valuable to the team. You're voting for X in this scenario.

1. Faulk (27.5%, 57.1% in tiebreaker)
2. Thomas (50%)
3. ???

Tarasenko should have been #1.

toss up between Tarasenko and Buchnevich. I’d lean towards Tarasenko

I going to go with the leading scorer, leading goal scorer, and important leader with the letter on his chest.

The idea that Tarasenko was not one of our top 3 best players this season is a f***ing joke.

Personally, I think you could argue for any combination of Tarasenko, Thomas, Faulk, and Buchnevich for your top 4. I wouldn't get too caught up on where your guy lands in that top 4, because really you could argue that any one of them deserves to be #1. The gap between 1st and 4th is tiny in my opinion.

Top 5. Add Husso in there.

Yeah, any of those 5 could be someone's #1 IMO.
All five have been absolutely amazing this year. If Kyrou didn't struggle after the ASG he'd be in there as well. Parayko would also be in that group if he didnt start off as slowly as he did, or if his defensive partner was stronger during the beginning of the season.

Yeah, Kyrou, Parayko, Schenn, Barbashev, and Krug you could also make arguments for at least being in the top 5, but they probably have a couple arguments against them as well.

Besides Binnington, all our expected good players had seasons that either met or exceeded expectations IMO. That's why I get annoyed at some of the discussion that takes place where it feels like people fighting between 2 players and hitting on the negatives of one to prop up the other. There's very little to complain about with this team. Doesn't mean it's a perfect team, but basically every player did their job.

I wasnt sure Tarasenko could hold up for a full NHL season. I had never heard of Buchnevich before we acquired him. Faulk was a whipping boy his first season here. And Thomas had a long way to go to be a top player on this team. And yet here they are, our top skaters.

Congrats to the management, the coaching staff and the four players involved.
