Hazard, Mbappe, Varane, Modric could have all won it. Lloris if not for his gross mistake in the final. He was perfect before that.

I went with Mbappe given his winning status, age and poise.

He destroyed Argentina but other than that he was ok. Others are better options. His age status or poise has nothing to do with winning a 2 week tournament

Modric followed by Hazard and Varane.

I didn't have Mbappé in the top 3.

Didn't we debate this same exact thing from mid July to August? I can't imagine much changed in people's opinions 6 months after a tourney, debating the same points.

New Poll: Better 2018 WC Golden Ball debate - July 2018 or Jan 2019?

Coutinho showed up every game too, but Hazard deserves this. Honorable mention goes to to the Colombian central defender Yerry Mina who only played three games but scored in each of them (including the 90+3 equalizer against England) while his team only allowed one goal.
