I know colored laces don't get a lot of love, but I got some for my skates and I think they look nice. :D Most of my equipment is pretty bland (well, other then the T-Blades); yellow adds a bit of a spark. :yo:

Anyone else use 'em?

i use black laces, if that counts. i'd like to get purple ones to match my socks but i don't know of a good place to buy nice ones. i think standard tennis shoe laces are too thin...

Last year I had bright pink and blue, ridiculously ugly, but I loved it, helped me stick out a bit more, which I like :P

You use yellow laces and t-blades, do you get chirped at a lot? I'm asking a serious question because I never dared to use both for that reason.

Yellow laces plus T-blades?

You are dying for a heavy cross check.

I have black laces and that's enough for me to be different. Everyone in Washington has yellow laces. T-blades make me want to destroy you like you're wearing roller blades. A combination of both is completely out of my league. Have fun looking strange. Hope you can skate, stick handle and shoot better than everyone on the ice.

Well, not much. Everybody on my team thinks that T-Blades must be impossible to skate on, because of the thin blade. Just got the laces today, I'll find out what they think tomorrow...

But I'm the only guy who gives out body checks in my league. :naughty:

We didn't have enough rec A players this year, so I ended up in rec B. So yeah, I am one of the better players. Never really score, just give the puck to someone with the net wide open and watch them miss. :shakehead

You guys think this is bad? Guess how I "tie" my skates! I don't tie them up at all on the bottom, and at the very top I tie them tightly. Then I put tons white hockey stick tape on my ankles so they feel like ski boots. Without it I don't turn as well.

Why do you (or anyone else for that matter) get so wound up over something like this? :shakehead I can only assume you haven't experienced much of life to know what is worth fighting about and what isn't.

I wear white inline skates with blue laces, just so you know. :naughty:

u jelly?

I have blood red laces in one pair of skates and waxed black in my One95's...I love it! :D

I mean there is a reason a lot of people and NHL players don't do it and it is b/c they dont want to get chirped. IMO I never want to look like I am trying to hard. Just last night we doing tryouts for our league and there was a guy with white gloves on and I said to the other captains that there was no way I was taking the guy with the white gloves no matter how he played.

My wife also tried to get me to buy green laces to match my gloves and I had to let her know that there is no way and she could not understand why. I had to tell her that I would get chirped like crazy out there.

I don't understand the hate for colored laces.

I understand hating on the average player who spends $250 on custom Warrior gloves for his beer league team, or spends $70 on a visor that looks like it is covered in tin foil. But something as small as laces? You might as well chirp me for the one loose thread on my pants or the scuff marks on my skates.

I've never had anyone say anything to me about my bright yellow laces. However, I have been chirped for just about everything else.

Yellow, waxed laces in my Grafs. When I wore my CCM's all I would wear in them were white laces...Personally, I think coloured laces look goofy in just about any skate except for Grafs. And even then the only coloured laces I'd wear would be yellow...but each to their own

i understand the hatred for tinited visors, and extreme laces. pink, neon blue (yellow never really bothered me, even with ovechkin using them), but for the life of me i cant figure out why, white gloves encourage the chirp.

Yellow because im the leading goal/point scorer in my league 3 seasons in a row.

but for the life of me i cant figure out why, white gloves encourage the chirp.

Its seen in the same light as everything else. Trying to stick out and be flashy. White gloves are pretty bad. You'll get chirped..100% of the time.
