Damocles was seated on a golden couch, surrounded by servants and lavish provisions.

This sounds like Shedeur Sanders

I'm starting to get the appeal for David Carle. I'm just not sure if he's the right guy for Boston but looking at some of the other names, I think he's probably one of the more intriguing names.
He hasn't done anything at the AHL or NHL level. I don't want another college flavor of the month.

Perhaps that is unfair, just how I see it.

Todd Nelson,

Misha Donskov (I realize he has no AHL/NHL *head* coaching experience, but look at his resume and listen to what others say about his hockey acumen).

I like this part:

“What really sets Sturm apart, though, is how he connects with players. Having been an NHL winger himself, he gets what it’s like to grind through an 82-game season and face the heat of the playoffs. Guys who’ve played under him can’t stop talking about how approachable he is. Akil Thomas from the Reign said Sturm’s always checking in, making sure players feel heard, which builds real trust.

Kevin Connauton, a veteran of 14 years, called him one of the best coaches he’s ever had, saying Sturm runs an AHL team like it’s an NHL squad but never loses touch with what his players need. For a Bruins roster that’s got a mix of grizzled vets like David Pastrnak and young guns like Jeremy Swayman, that kind of coach, one who can relate to everyone, is huge.

Mentored by hard-nosed coaches like Darryl Sutter, Sturm learned the value of discipline and straight talk, and he brings that to his teams now. Guys like Dennis Seidenberg have called him “eager” and “welcoming,” which makes me think he’d bring a fresh, positive vibe to a locker room that could use it after Jim Montgomery’s departure.

The Bruins are at a crossroads, staring down a rebuild. Sturm’s proven he can develop young talent and inspire a group, from his Olympic run with Germany to his AHL success. His structured but adaptable style could be exactly what Boston needs to get back to contending.”

I think the big question is who is hiring the next coach.

Neely fired Cassidy because Sweeney said Cassidy was safe. The irony is that Cam was put in place to protect Charlie from saying anything stupid.

Charlie then says that we will be a playoff team next year. :boredom:

I am not optimistic

Seems like a cluster. I would like to see Sweeney by himself and Neely retire.

The guys at the top of my list:
Misha Donskov
Jay Woodcroft
Todd Nelson

Next tier is:
Jeremy Colliton
Marco Sturm
Rick Tocchet

Third tier:
Joe Sacco
Marc Savard
Gerard Gallant
Jeff Halpern
Davis Payne

Not keen on these guys but could live with it:
Any college coach
Jay Leach
Ryan Mougenal
Manny Malhotra

Hate the idea of hiring these guys:
Tortorella
Sullivan
Boudreau
Laviolette
Julien
Quinn
Cronin
Bylsma

I can`t find any article or clip but didn`t Sweeney or Neely mention their preference is someone with NHL experience? I don`t think they specifically said NHL HC experience but NHL experience in general such as being an Assistant Coach?

I wish Sweeney/Neely had the same approach to hiring a coach as they do when they draft kids they think are projects but will be longtime contributors to the big club once they develop

Where I think this lands is either Leach gets the gig or they go with Sturm, it would be a Bruins type move

1- former B`s player, familiar with the org
2- no NHL head coaching experience but has Ass`t coached in the NHL if not mistaken?
3- Not like Sturm could command massive $$
