Whoever the coach is please no ties to the bruins, or any New England colleges. I’m so sick of the Boston nepotism that has rotted this organization from the inside out. Sweeney & Neely need to be gone, all player development coaches associated with or ties to the bruins, or any New England colleges need to be gone. This organization needs a complete colon purge from top to bottom. Purge the good ole boy network once and for all!

What is the Bruins' organizational philosophy under Cam Neely and Don Sweeney?

What kind of hockey team do they want to be?
What's the vision?
What kind of players do you want to draft and develop?
What kind of system do you want to install and implement?

Time to take a long, hard look in the mirror before choosing the next steps in the path.
Those are questions the current management is still unable to answer after 10 yrs of trying. Maybe I’m a skeptic, but I doubt they’re going to find the answers on year 11.

I'd hire Todd Nelson. Back-2-back Calder Cups, A 3rd Calder Cup with Grand Rapids. Has won 50% of the past 6 Calder Cups. Has his team in 2nd place overall this season.
Obviously a Bears fan too, but I came here to say this. The man has completely changed the culture of the team. Hershey has been solidly backed by the Capitals organization and system for a long time, but Nelson continues to get the best out of his rosters on his structure and style. Also, he has built a consistent, potent powerplay the past three years too with a rotating cast.

I voted other. I want a coach that has experience with vets and young players. One that has done it in multiple organizations.

Guys like Carle and Carvel would be interesting (more so Carvel for me because he has some NHL coaching experience). However, why would they leave their current jobs? Carle seems very happy in Denver. Carvel has young kids and he/they are involved in the community.

Nelson, or someone like him, would be interesting.

I don’t want to see Tortorella hired here. I’ve read a couple books on him or that included interviews with him and I don’t think he can connect with this generation of player. There's a reason he hasn't been successful in over 20 years.

I also don’t think he’s a good person. In the books, he openly talked about how he “mind f***s” guys (his words) to get them off balance. How he shits on them and shits on them until they stop being respectful and fight back.

I know folks want a firmer hand on the wheel but there's a difference between being damanding and being an asshole on a power trip. One garners grudging respect, the other bitter resentment.

I voted for Patrice.
Reasons why....
He's Patrice Bergeron.
Knows both the defensive and offensive side of the game.
A respected voice
He needs a job. He's been away from the game for two years. Sooner or later he'll have to move forward.

That being said who I think it'll likely be, I'm thinking Jay Leach as the obvious choice and I'm fine with that. Runner up, Marc Savard.
Both are regarded as two guys ready to take the leap as HC.

Who I'm hoping it's not? Anybody that has already coached here previously plus Bruce Boudreau, Torts or Rachel Ziegler.

Even when Cassidy was coaching, the team had games where they wouldn't show up for games , that Winter Classic against Montreal was pathetic!.
Over the recent that trend of the team not showing up has gotten worse, no matter who was coaching or even who the Captain was, this year being the worst! Two HC's during season, it can't happen anymore!
No more status quo nonsense, bring on a new voice a new leader, who knows how to win and bring back the pride of Boston!.

True, I just feel it’s worth pointing out that every team has games they don’t show up for. Washington just lost to Buffalo. Washington, Tampa, Florida and Colorado have all lost to the Bruins. Nobody is immune to the ups and downs of an 82 game season.

Earlier in the thread, I posted some details on Cassidy's tenure with the Bruins. A couple people challenged me on the story, and I stated that I won't reveal the source on a public forum, but I will submit it to the mods for vetting. A mod asked for the source, I gave it to them in a PM, and the post was allowed to remain.

Not saying you are full of shit, but for me it does not pass the smell test, and you cannot just throw out there that the Mods let it stand, so it makes it true.

I’m struggling to understand anyone who would want to keep Sacco.

Obviously he’s not a wizard, so keeping him might increase your chances of another high pick, but I’m not so sure that’s even fair to say.

You traded away basically every established leader in the room. Now is the perfect time to change the coaching staff. Get a guy in who can be the first voice for the new guys and start fresh. Joe Sacco would be coaching to save his career…not a great spot IMO for a young team without much talent and lacking leadership.
