If sacco is head coach he will be in a short leash for sure. The boos will rain hard when they on a 8 game losing streak with this imbecile.
I'm beginning to think there is actually more to this than we thought...Sorry, not happening.
Penguins or Flyers.
I’m not here for this guyJoe sacco sucks.
Nope - he has a specific person that doesn’t involve a firingSweeney will likely wait until the end of the play offs to see who else gets fired before making any decisions on a new coach.
Thank you as this is very interesting. I would take Tocchet over Pettersson. See what Tocchet thinks of Boeser and Garland. If he likes them sign Boeser and trade for Garland with one year left on his deal.Okay, this was a weird one that Canucks season ticket holders shared that I think could be relatable to the Bruins situation:
1. Tocchett wanted Pettersson traded.
2. Alvin offered the 11.6 to Pettersson and then also recieved an offer for Pettersson from the Hurricanes.
3. The trade was for Necas, Kotkaniemi, Morrow and a 1st for Pettersson.
4. Management told Pettersson to sign the contract extension or he was traded.
5. Canucks OWNERSHIP stepped in and nixed the trade.
6. Pettersson was pissed but told by his agent to sign it and then he could be traded to wherever he wanted once his NTC kicks in and he has his guaranteed money.
7. Pettersson's play drops, divide in room continues and the rest falls apart.
Where the Bruins come in:
8. Bruins explore trade for Pettersson.
9. Bruins end up finding out Lindholm is done for the year and McAvoy is injured for the year. Season is done and no point in trading for help now.
10. Canucks give Petterson until the end of this past season to improve.
11. Canucks and Bruins both agree to revisit the trade when the season is over and the Bruins pick is solidified.
12. Tocchett becomes available as a head coach.
13. Both Boston and Tocchett know there is a real possibility that Pettersson would end up in Boston so Tocchett makes zero sense to explore for him or the Bruins.
14. 5th overall falls to 7th overall now putting that trade chip in play as Hagens, Misa, and the other top C prospect are now likely off the table.
15. Bruins and Canucks resume the January trade talks around Pettersson with the idea that the 7th overall will not be a Bruins ready prospect for a couple years while Pettersson is ready to step in now.
Again, the trade news and the ownership nixing it came up last night AFTER the draft lottery and that Tocchett wanted him gone so if there is any truth around the Canucks and Bruins talking Pettersson, Tocchett 100% will not be an option the Bruins are interested in.
This is basically the last two years in Vancouver and the divide (Tocchett and Miller closer) that shattered the team.Thank you as this is very interesting. I would take Tocchet over Pettersson. See what Tocchet thinks of Boeser and Garland. If he likes them sign Boeser and trade for Garland with one year left on his deal.
What do you mean?I'm beginning to think there is actually more to this than we thought...
What I meant was that the Bruins NOT even going towards Tocchett suggests that they have something possibly brewing with Pettersson. I was hinting at 'maybe this January Pettersson trade talk wasn't as crazy as it sounded'.What do you mean?
The prospect of landing in Philadelphia or Pittsburgh seems entirely logical to me.
Good luck to Tocch.
I have not considered it that way. What I meant was that the Bruins NOT even going towards Tocchett suggests that they have something possibly brewing with Pettersson.
You'd expect them to be in on a coach like Tocchett unless he has a negative relationship with a player of yours...
Fair enough and it could be that way. Then I read Don's comments about 'message me when a coach doesn't want to interview for (Boston's) job' implying that the job is one anyone would want, if they wanted them.I have not considered it that way.
To me it's as simple as Rick wants out of the foolishness and drama that is the Vancouver Canucks, media and fans.
Why not coach Philadelphia or Pittsburgh? Impossibly, he is beloved in both towns.
No brainer.
I don't think he would touch the dysfunctional Boston Bruins "management group"/ownership with a 10-ft pole.
Neither would I.
Wake me when it's over.
Good for him, honestly.![]()
With Denver 'home for me and my family,' Carle inks multi-year contract extension to remain behind Pioneers' bench - College Hockey | USCHO.com
Denver announced Monday that men’s hockey coach David Carle has signed a multi-year contract extension. At the helm of the program for the past sevenwww.uscho.com
Same thing happened with St Louis. Buchnevich shot for the open net for an icing infraction, when he could have skated a few strides and dumped the puck in the zone. Winnipeg then scored with 2.2 seconds remaining for the tie. Monty was furious even before the goal.Good for him, honestly.
I don't know why anyone would want to leave a job like that for the NHL were you are fired when your GM puts together a bad team and the players decide their guaranteed contracts mean they can take days, weeks or even a year off from trying hard.
Hiller could be fired because Byfield doesn't know how to chip a puck to center and win a playoff series.
He took job with Rangers already helping Sullivan I thought I readThis team needs a defensive hard nosed coach. They are not talented enough on paper to win so theyll need to outwork teams to win. Torts makes a ton of sense. Hes not the coach of next 10 years but he’ll get their heads screwed on straight for a couple years and they won’t be a complete disaster. They have players conducive to his style. Maybe get swaymans confidence back when he isnt defending 2-1s 8 times a game. Plus hes the most entertaining option if the team isnt going to win; at least make me laugh at how mad he gets
When I take my daughter to the games live, I just tell her to watch 43 the entire time. She replied, 'it's crazy that the puck always comes to him!'I do see a fair bit of Vancouver on the 2nd half of Saturday double-headers I did like what he did Vancouver. Now there might be some bias there as well, Quinn Hughes has become my favorite non-Bruin to watch play hockey.
