Accidentally cast a vote for Marleau. I’m feeling charitable 😂

Picked a few who could make a case.

Also need Mogilny on there as an option. He deserves consideration.
Mogilny doesn't get his due. 6 time all star, Bing trophy, Cup winner, Olympic and World Championship gold

Fetisov gets all the press, but he was the 1st Russian to defect and paved the way the rest. He did it at 20 years old!!

Guy had over a thousand points and is top 60 all time in goals

I think he belongs

He has been in 6 NHL ASG's.

He's only been an All star (end of year list) once. 2nd team.

He should be in though.

Shea Weber, Pavel Datsyuk, Henrik Zetterberg and Curtis Joseph.

I don't think Mogilny's play on the ice alone deserves the HHOF. But no denying his significance being the first NHL draftee to defect from the Soviet Union.

Also, If we're gonna add Tkachuk on this list, then Leclair and Naslund should be here too. Same goalscoring but even better production.

Zetterberg had 120 points in 137 playoff games.

Mogilny with 86 in 124 playoff games.

That's because Mogilny played most of his playoffs games while he was past his prime. He wasn't part of a contending team while in his 20's.

Zetterberg played almost all of his career playing for a contender, except at the end when he was past his prime.

He also, you know, risked his and his families safety to hide in a trunk and defect, and as a result, paved the way for a whole generation of Soviet players to come to the NHL. The whole being incredibly good at hockey thing also adds to it.

This is the moment of the year where we have to remind everyone that :

1- This is not a "best prime years" award. It’s best careers award. Longevity matters too as an achievement.

2- HHOF also considers off ice conduct and how the player is a good role model. This isn't just a stats based award.

Agree, that matters. He's a no brainer for me too. He should be in already.

Mogilny being below Zetterberg is.. somethin.
Why does anyone think now is the time for Moginly, what's so different now? He's been eligible like 15 years.

Zetteberg meanwhile has been just 3 years waiting, but it felt already like they might be waiting to pair him with Datsyuk. It fits a narrative combo they have.

I don't know how Weber is so low. Seemed like a 1st year lock to me.
