Who should get in the 2026 HoF?

  • Total voters
    10
The problem is not the process - any process you choose will see the same thing.

The problem is in convincing the voting body - any voting body - that certain players belong and other players do not. Unless you move to some kind of objective standards (what a nightmare that will be), or impose selection by a designated individual (lol), then you have the persistent problem of subjective decisions made by large groups of disparate individuals.
the process can definitely be improved from what it is now

but at the end of the day, the baseball HOF is not to be taken seriously when guys like bonds and clemens aren't in while the likes of harold baines and jack morris are. not to mention all of frankie frisch's boys

Even if he wasn't, he's not a Hall of Famer.
This. There are plenty of detestable people in the HoF, and Omar was a magician with the glove, but I wouldn't put him in. And I say this as a Cleveland fan whom he dazzled for years.

i agree, but then perhaps its time to fix the voting process so that you don't have guys who belong in the hall falling off the ballot after a year and borderline guys getting in instead

Or guys like Harold Baines, who only got in via a committee that his former team owner and manager were on. That was a very HHOF esque move.

It should be a binary ballot instead of max 10, and if you're gonna have a max 10, then the <5% and you're done rule needs to change, like give everyone at least 3 years to get that 5% or something.
