I know the idea of aquiring Dach was for the purpose of playing him at C. But he is a player who could really compliment Suzuki and CC very well. He has the size speed and playmaking abiltiy you'd want on that line with them. We have depth at the C position and still have Beck in the pipeline. I don't think we need to pidgeon hole Dach at C just because that's what they initially envisioned. Things evolve, I'd like to see what we have with Dach on this line and go from there.

The existence of Owen Beck allows the brass to put Kirby Dach at wing.

Beck is the future at C.
Maybe check with the maestro before making pronouncements like that. What does HE say.

While I'm a huge fan of the Maestro, I'm also not one to live only in the past. I appreciate Hughes & Gorton.

As opposed to most people on this board, I can hold two truths in my mind.

Long term I don't think Slaf is a solution because you don't want to load all your top players on one line. Spreading out the offence is important for good teams. So short term sure give him some reps sometime down the line maybe start off with some PP time together and go from there.

Short term, you can make a case for literally anyone. An off the board choice might be Evans. He's got the speed and forechecking tenacity you want and he does have some offensive skills that he seems to rarely use.

I've said before that I thought Beck would move ahead of Dach in the org C depth chart pretty soon so I agree. At the same time I'm surprised they're putting Dach at the wing so soon. I would have expected a much longer trial at C before trying at wing. Maybe it's just temporary to see what he can do or a home versus road thing. Can't say I disliked what he did with Suzuki and Caufield on the wing. Granted, it's only one game.

Dach or Monahan. Need a big, skilled body to make space and drive the net. Both can do this and both are lefties too.
With two righties in Caufield and Suzuki, the lefty angle for the third wheel is not to be taken lightly.

I liked Dach there, I'd be cool giving him another shot.

I'd also like them to try Gallagher there, he's basically the only player on the roster with a lot of experience playing against top competition effectively and he can play the puck-hound role.
Righty. No good.

Slafkovsky would be a good option on the PP with Suzuki and Caufield, but I'd rather he play on another line in the future at even strength, maybe with Mesar and, if we're lucky, Dvorsky, who dropped a little in draft rankings after his showing with a useless roster at the U-20s once Slafkovsky and Mesar were gone.

Look for someone else to play with Suzuki and Caufield. Monahan, maybe (if re-signed), PLD, maybe (if acquired), Dach, maybe (if we continue the experiment and it proves to be conclusive), a Shaw type, or a Claude Lemieux type, really (do we have one of those in the system?).

Gallagher is a black hole right now. He's the last player i would put to play with Suzuki and Caufield cause he will kill the line. I like Monahan or Darch

I like Dach there. He complemented them well and he's got two shooting options as a playmaker. He's one of the only players who can think the same kind of game too. I think he can get great numbers which would help his confidence immensely, until Monahan or Dvorak are traded. He can go back to center with the added confidence.

Best fit is a Slafkovsky with more experience, big puck retriever with the skills to play there, a matter of time before he gets his chance, for now thats Dach spot to lose.

I would also say Slafkovsky one day. This season, it's probably Monahan or Dach.

I voted for players who need to boost their numbers in order to get higher value to get traded. This is another tank year. So my choices are Hoffman, Dadonov, Drouin and Armia. But Drouin doesn't really need to be traded.
I also picked Dach for a different reason. For him to learn with the two best.

Dach is the most obvious option for now, MSL described him when he talked about a player who can facilitate Caufield and Suzuki. Someone who can create some space for them, battle for pucks in the corner and create some chaos in front of the net.

like a bigger body that can crash the net hoping that might be Anderson?

I'm an Anderson fan but he's too inconsistent. I liked what I say with Dach in the last game so lets try that a bit more.

What's wrong with tinkering with the roster and staying with it while we win games? Change it up once you loose a few games. After all, this is a rebuild and development years.

At some point, I'd like to see Armia tried with them as well. We don't have to be married to one guy with them at the moment.

Definitely in the minority but I'd like to try Armia there once he's up to speed. The dynamic duo don't need a lot of help to score but have a big body retrieve pucks and be good defensively with them would be good imo.

Dach can work too and I'm not opposed to it either, prbly my 2nd choice.
