Bret Hedican. Interesting pick. Being a Devils fan, I'm more partial to Martin; but picking up a guy off the top team in the NHL isn't a bad choice I would think.

isn't the purpose of the taxi squad to replace injured players? and when a player gets injured, they don't use the player currently on the taxi squad

I understand that Hedican was pencilled in before Martin was named to the taxi squad.

Solid choice. Though I doubt he'll see the ice much unless one of our top 6 gets hurt during the Olympics.

My understanding as well. These two events are occurring at the same time: the naming of the taxi squad and the replacement of Miller. So Hedican would have been the one on the taxi squad had Miller not been replaced now.
