Not sure if you remember these if they were still around when you were an up and comer. In the 70s my brother and I used write personal letters to Leaf players (MLG address). We basically said the same thing in each; "Hi ... you are my favorite player on Leafs. Could you please send me a free photo of yourself." We collected so many autographed. Pics

in those days along with a whole slew of hockey cards back then. Awww the good old days .... Gottem, gottem, needem ....
