Edmonton gets a halfway decent goalie and they’ll tough to bet against

This, and that was my answer last year at this time. Not to get all conspiratorial, but it really feels like the Edmonton sports media isn't allowed to discuss the problem in net.

Decades from now hockey historians will look at the Oilers teams from 2023 and 2024 and scratch their heads about why the team did nothing to fix its goaltending when the team was so close to winning it all...

Missed this thread last fall but was thinking;
Oilers and Stars from the West and Panthers and Rangers from the East. Stars over the Rangers was my overall.

Now… The Jets look really good along with the Wild, Knights and Oilers in the West.
Capitals (a surprise) along with Maple Leafs, Devils and Panthers my top in the East.

At the moment I see the Central division being tough and wearing down those teams so I’ll say Oilers from the West against the Capitals from the East; Oilers win in 7.

edit - as a Stars fan I know GM Nill with the cap space he’s got (Seguin LTIR) will make a move or two but facing Jets, Wild and Avalanche in the first two rounds it wouldn’t surprise me if they get to Conference Finals again but can’t proceed, hope I’m wrong of though.

My random stab at this is a team I think is being overlooked: the Avs. Particularly now that they’ve upgraded their goalie situation.

Mittelstadt is a solid (if unspectacular) 2C that they’ve sorely lacked since Kadri left. Hopefully for them, Nichuskin gets healthy and has his act together. And I’m sure they’ll make some TDL moves to bolster depth.

The team is still pretty loaded, with a Cup-winning pedigree. Who in the West wants to face these guys if they get their shit together?

Florida. Followed by (and in no order), Vegas, Dallas, Winnipeg. I think there will be a "Cinderella Run" by a team until the reach their Conference Final and lose in 6 or 7.

No BS thread, only non biased posters allowed thread

Who is winning the cup this year?
Who has the best chance this year at the cup

The purpose of this thread is to be bumped at the end of June, meaning everyone who participates in this thread will be held accountable at the end to the year (with mods approval)

me , as a Canucks fan, I think Florida will repeat

But I want to hear everyone’s opinion
Laugh? Given up on the canucks huh?

I think the last team to win a game will win it .

The Canucks. Other teams are peaking too early and the Canucks are pacing themselves to get hot in the playoffs
