Who is the best player you saw live?

Either Pizza line(when NHL started in Stockholm) or some player, like Hossa/Chara, during the lockout. Also saw Forsberg a couple of times but that was nearing the end of his career.

Forward: Sidney Crosby

I remember live thinking he must have an extra set of eyes in the back of his head.

Defense: Nicklas Lidstrom

I remember marveling at how he’s just never out of position and always seems to make the right play.

Goalie: Marin Brodeur

In warm up, guys would skate from alternate wings and rapid fire shoot. Even without being square to a single shot, nobody beat him.

The first NHL game I ever attended in person featured :
Gretzky
Robitaille
Nicholls
Taylor
Gilmour
Fleury
Nieuwendyk
MacInnis
Mullen

So, that was a good start.

My list isn't fancier than Michael Nylander and Chris Drury in the hockey world championship in Finland in 1997 (3rd of March).
Sweden won the game 3-1.

Having been a hockey fan my entire life but only having attended a handful of games, all in Minnesota and one in Chicago.

I saw the HOF Red Wings 2002 team play in Minnesota. Pick a player from that team.

I’ve seen the Ducks a few different times in Minnesota, one of which being Teemu’s 1000th game. That team had Niedermayer, Pronger, Selanne.

I guess I would say Yzerman or Hull? It’s a tossup.

Visually it was Niedermayer. To see a defenseman skate that effortlessly, that fast, that smart, all the time was a true sight to behold.

Connor McDavid on March 22, 2018. Completely dominated that night, never saw anything like it. Have seen him a few other times, but that stands out. Erik Karlsson in his prime would be runner up.
