Clayton Keller isn't a center nevermind a 2 way center, and Hutson very clearly isn't Hughes.
But I would take Point over guys like Shea Theodore.

Disagree, he doesn't have the skating ability to dominate games in the same way as Quinn.
That's not a knock on Hutson. He's gonna be a whale of a player.
You mentioned Clayton Keller as a comparable for a 2 way center, maybe you're the guy who should watch some games.

I think he absolutely does have the ability to dominate games despite being an inferior skater. I don't know how much you watched of Quinn Hughes in the Canadian division but he was a disaster defensively. Hutson at 24 is going to be a Norris trophy candidate.
Cooley was compared to Keller in play style in 2023, but ok......

Lane doesn't have the natural athletic ability that Quinn has, which limits his ceiling. It's the same reason Bedard never had McDavid potential. Doesn't mean Bedard and Hutson aren't terrific young players.
But Keller isn't a center, nor is he a very well rounded player. I said I'd prefer an elite 2 way center over and elite OFD, bringing up Keller doesn't make any sense.Cooley was compared to Keller in play style in 2023, but ok......

Cooley's upside comparable is a J Hughes / Hischier hybrid - that's a top 10 center in the league.

You're just a lot higher on Cooley than I am and lower on Hutson than I am (although I agree that Lane will never have Quinn's skating).
That's fair, I've been high on Cooley since well before the draft. To me, he should have been the runaway 1st overall pick, it didn't seem particularly close among him and the other top guys the Habs were considering.

I know Slaf is slumping-ish this season but he can develop into a solid PF that wins you games in the playoffs.
He's a very good young player with a bright future, but just isn't on Cooley's level.

Let's see. I agree that Cooley will outscore Slaf but Slaf's value will go beyond points alone.

I dunno how clear it is honestly.
He might not be as good as Hughes, but the potential to have a similar impact is there, whether people like it or not
And neither are on Hutsons level

Very hard to vote anything else than Hutson on this one, Slaf could become a monster because he is a huge dude but i see Hutson as a Werenski type of player, he takes few years to reach his prime and when he does it's ridiculous.

It's too hard to tell, as youngsters change rankings annually. But, based on what I've seen so far...
1. Hutson -- Elite, offensive defenseman in his prime. He will run a lethal PP on the Habs and score between 70-90 points a season... 95 in a top year. Even as a pup, he looks like a young Phil Housley or Erik Karlsson out there. He's an amazing talent who can snap a game wide open.
2. Cooley -- A silky smooth talent. I don't feel Cooley will end up contending for an Art Ross but he'll be very, very good like Sebastian Aho. I believe he will be more valuable than his points suggests and will soon be the best player on the Yeti.
3. Slafkovsky -- He could emerge as the best player on the list when he puts everything together, based on his skill and size. That said, I wouldn't bet on it. Although I don't see Slaf becoming a superstar, he should end up a very important player for a promising Canadiens club, producing between 65-80 points a year in his prime. Within 2 years he could be a 35-40-75 threat playing with Demidov, Hutson, Suzuki, Caufield, and crew.
