I get Florida won but I'm asking who has the better window going forward...
This isn't a what has happened thread, it's a future based thread.
im not sure Toronto has "cup window" in the traditional sense until they can consistently get out of the first round.

Yes they have good seasons, and are having one now, and yes they seem a different than previous years, but havent proven anything yet to counted among the contenders for a cup. So my vote is florida.

Sometimes there are silly questions. This is one of them.

I have to think people are voting the Leafs had the better cup window to rub it in our faces that they blew it. We had a real shot on ‘21 and flubbed it with an all-time choke job against Montreal, but after that it was apparent that we were a paper tiger.

Our window is as one of the half-dozen hopefuls who are a step down from the real contenders. We also have a core who can’t win a darn thing, which really tells you where we’re at.

You can see who voted for the Leafs.

It’s not a secret.

Just click on the numerical link. Most of them are Leafs fans.

Yep. Leafs don't have a "Cup window"
Who's turn is it to eliminate them this season......Sens?

The leafs have a Cup window? May as well ask “who has a better Cup window, the Panthers or a giraffe?”
obviously the giraffe, his window will be higher and by virtue have a better view.

Just leave us out of it until we actually qualify for the first time in years.
i understand your hesitance, but it looks like Ottawa has a decent team thats playing well this year, seems to be coming along nicely this year.

The reigning champ is always the safe bet. I don't think they are the better team this year, but is very close.

My vote would have to go to the team who has proven more in the last few years

What I don't understand is why the Panthers are always being compared with the Leafs, and vice versa. Seems like it's been that way for several years.

The team that has proven they know how to do it versus the team that has proven they wilt in the playoffs? Tough one.

Panthers have won 8 of their last 10 play off series.
Leafs have won 1 of their last 8 play off series.
I like the Panthers group and core better.
I Like the Panthers goaltendibg better.
I like their play off track record better. Although getting the Panthers back up goalie has improved the leafs between the pipes.
Barkov, Tkachuk, Reinhardt, Bennet, Verheague, Ekblad , Bob .....all look like they will be around for awhile. Their window for a second cup looks much better.

I'm not sure TOR's window was ever fully open. When Brad Treveling accepted that 4-year contract, he broadcasted that their culture is fine with regular-season accolades and awards. Winning a cup does not appear to be a priority.

Barkov and Zito's leadership and partnership continue to pay dividends. FLA's window is wide open for the foreseeable future.

Would have to say Florida, but if (and it's a big if) they manage it correctly getting Tavares' deal off the books opens up real possibilities

Yea, they may go back to having the aspirations they had just before they signed him.
