Who Has The Best/Worst Arena Music In The League?

Personally I love how punk rock and edm, sometimes a mix, is only played at hockey games.

So unique and such good music.

Do teams play different songs?

Sometimes i feel like the NHL distributes a playlist to the teams and they just hit play between whistles.

Ducks just did a collaboration with offspring so we've had a bunch of their stuff playing. As for worst, any of the ones that play limp Bizkit and that style like it's the late 90s early 00s make me cringe (and I love the 90s usually)

All I know is I’d be ok with a lockout postponing multiple seasons if it could get written in the CBA that NHL arenas are banned from playing Living on a Prayer, Mr. Brightside, All the Small Things, and Sweet Caroline
Well if you become a STH they usually ask those kind of things in a season ending survey. Music likes/dislikes,
Food likes and dislikes etc.

seattle and vegas both have great in game production and play a good mix of stuff. vancouver is the worst of the arenas i visit enough to have an opinion. it's just stuff 40 year old dudes think is cool

Merle Haggard night at the Scotiabank centre is always heck of time. They play all the hits like: Silver Red Wings, Tonight the Bruins let me down, and everyone’s favourite Ovie from Muskogee. I think the Hag night is only topped by their Woodstock tribute event where Matthews dresses as David Crosby.

Montreal is a mixed bag but will occasionally play some of the craziest shit I’ve heard at a major league arena. They had a system of a down deep cut on Saturday I had to do a double take on.

I cant really speak for the musinc but I love the Montreal organ as it's literally mimicking the sound of the forum in the 80s.

I don't like the goal horn though, and the goal song they currently use is super generic.

As a nostalgic wrestling fan, I do like the fact that they will play some wwe intros from time to time such as stone cold Steve Austin, Kevin Owen's, Finn Balor etc..

It's good music in Montreal. Diane does the organ and you can take music lessons at her shop on the south shore. That's pretty cool you can ask her whatever. She does funkytown every game.

I feel like the Prudential Center guy is/was a defend pop-punk character. Half of the songs are 80s-90s-2000s hits and then the other half are medium deep cut NJ emo pop punk.

I think it makes for an awesome vibe and the the true raff that show up seem to get fired up for it.

Is Toronto the only Arena that plays The Hockey Song at every game?
That alone should get them the top spot.

Homer vote for the Kings. Dieter Ruehle is the organist for the LA Kings and the LA Dodgers, and has also played in the past for the SJ Sharks and the LA Lakers, played at several Olympics, etc. The Kings also play a lot of canned music, but Dieter elevates the whole experience.
Winnipeg fan here to second this motion for the Kings' organist. He's amazing and I always enjoy his stuff when watching LA home games.

The Jets have the worst organist in the league. He adds nothing - and often detracts from the in-game experience. I'd rather hear whatever classic rock tune they're playing before faceoffs (I swear you could swap the current Jets playlist with one from a Jets 1.0 game and no one would notice).

They used to play Thrice with regularity in Boston. Those were the days.

Montreal has now resorted to an in house bootleg trance DJ, they are the worst

But there aren’t any stand outs for good NHL arena soundtracks. It’s been pretty bad since the Dawn of time

Honourable mention to the Corporate crap that gets spewed out relentlessly at games between whistles.

I get it's a business but the constant "powered by" "fueled by" etc just makes me feel like I'm being subjected to a non-stop Peal Harbour type ad campaign.

I just keep my eyes away from the jumbotron, don't give them my attention and take in the atmosphere instead.

Love that stuff. Looks like the Devils DJ is TJ Roche. Still think Reed Streets (soundcloud linked earlier) is the best for Philly, but this guy ain't bad.
