Music: Who has a better discography than the Gorillaz since the year 2000?

I like the Gorillaz, I especially really appreciate their style/aesthetic. But I don't think they're the best.

I'm a big fan of Buckethead and Opeth, those would get my vote. Buckethead especially is one of the most prolific artists maybe of all time. Someone mentioned The Mars Volta, they too have been awesome post-2000. Shame they had to split up (hope they come back together, there have been rumors!)

Definitely agree with QOTSA, Kanye, and Radiohead. I was kind of shocked Arcade Fire and The National not mentioned.

Arcade Fire:
Funeral (2004)
Neon Bible (2007)
The Suburbs (2010)
Reflektor (2014)
Everything Now (2017)

The National
S/T (2001)
Sad Songs For Dirty Lovers (2003)
Alligator (2005)
Boxer (2007)
High Violet (2010)
Trouble Will Find Me (2013)
Sleep Well Beast (2017)

I find it hard to agree with a band that has put out only 2 or 3 albums over that time period.

For example, Tame Impala, who I love, only has the 3 albums.

It's an impossible question, why you ask....because music like art is subjective. I mean if you want to say who has the best discography based in some form of statistical point of view, ex. album sales or music streams, fine....but given your band choice, they would get destroyed in that ranking...So, I am going to say, Yes, to the original question, there are many bands who have put out better consistant stuff in the last 18 years.

I wasn't taking rap/hip-hop into consideration for this whatsoever. But if that's the case, Kanye probably has everybody beat

Spoon, Tame Impala, Queens of the Stone Age, Grizzly Bear.

Couldn't believe I got this far before Spoon. I would take Tame Impala out simply for the fact they have only put out 3 albums (but I love them...was at the Red Rocks show a couple of years ago which was money).

Very good list. I would likely add Arcade Fire to the list as well.

Taking other peoples music, turning it into complete dogshit, and being a jackass to boot? Not even close.

It slipped my mind. Hip Hop is so different I usually find it tough to compare to rock/alternative

I don't get the Kanye thing at all (or how MBDTF is considered a great album), personally, but everyone whose opinions I respect seems to think he's great.

Not just that, but their debut was 2010. I would pick Tame Impala for best of this decade though.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club has been releasing a strong album every 2-3 years since 2001:

I think I'll go with Decapitated (tech / brutal death metal). Their first three albums are outstanding. And they were only teenagers for the first one or two.

OP didn’t even mention my two favorite Gorillaz songs, Empire Ants and Dracula. So slightly disappoint.
