I am a bigger Alfredsson fan than a Sens fan, probably because I don't live in Ottawa anymore. With all the turnover in management and players, what are you cheering for? The crest? If you live in Ottawa, I can get that.

A - Neil

The old guard, give Karlsson some more seasoning. In a couple years, transition to the young generation. I think it will be:

A - Phillips
A - Karlsson

Largely for marketing purposes, like moving on from Alfredsson-era, a young all-star alternate, etc.

I always thought I was a bigger Alfie fan than a Sens fan, but I guess that this just incident basically proved that I'm not.

Certainly makes you second guess the confidence in this team and its roster and management though.

However, I've always maintained that the rebuild doesn't happen until Alfie is gone. Until then, it's like we're still clinging to the old squad on life support.

I would say the C and 2 A patches are almost certainly going to go to some combination of Chris Phillips, Chris Neil, and Jason Spezza.

I'd say get right to the point and give it to Karlsson, but Spezza will most likely get it. Definitely do support him as captain though.

Spezza. Just bypass Phillips all together since it's more likely he will retire at the end of his contract next year. Don't need to bounce the C around in such a small window of time.
