Who gets the A's?

Leafs site while likely not accurate is listing Grabo and Komisarek. I only give it second thought because it kinda lists the most recent roster moves (Orr, Kostka, etc)

Lupul and Grabo are the most deserving. Sadly, I think Komi will retain his.
 
I was one of Grabo's biggest critics in '09, and since then he has done nothing but prove he's a key player on this team. He deserves the A. As for the second one, there are a few deserving candidates but I really don't want to see Komisarek donning it.

Plenty of people are saying Lupul, and I agree. He came to the Leafs and just stepped into a leadership role. I like it because he leads by example through his play, and at the same time I get the impression he's a vocal guy in the locker room (pure speculation obviously).
 
Lupul as an 'A',FOR SURE! Carlye's 'Black and White-No nonsense' attitude towards accountability will surely need Dion to step up as a Captain and mediate in the locker room.Dion has his work cut-out for him so he may need help from someone who speaks English w/o an accent.

It's not baseless, when Kadri was on Cybulski and CO this week, he said that Lupul was his biggest mentor on the team.
 
Why Grabo? The guy barely speaks english...

Unless you're wanting him to be the voice for all the ruskies on the team it really doesn't make sense. I also don't understand the "lets take the A away from Komisarek" idea here. He may have disappointed on the ice thus far, but he's very clearly a solid locker room guy and a well spoken player in a very tough market to be a well spoken player in.

You don't need to be overly vocal to lead. Look at how Leafs players reacted when Grabo fought Neil. Look at him in that infamous Boston game. He was destroyed....twice. By all right he probably shouldn't have been in the game. How did he respond? He dusted himself off and scored a highlight reel goal to win the game.

You can't watch him play and not be impressed and want to follow suit.

Interesting, how was he different in Philly in comparison to now? And good to hear about his relationship with Kadri.

@TieClark: I was initially unsure about Grabo because of his english. But the guy has shown to have a lot of heart over the years, something sadly lacking on this team. I believe his play is inspiring to the players. I get what you're saying in the sense that I don't exactly envision him rallying players together between periods to deliver pep talks, but that's okay.

For that same reason I don't think Komi should have an A. Indeed he is a well spoken guy and all. He will continue to bring whatever leadership he has to offer with or without the letter on his chest. I just don't feel his level of play warrants giving him a letter.

Yeah I guess... I mean I agree he's all heart out there but so is Mike Brown. I think a Captain needs to be a certain type of leader and I just don't see Grabovski as a captain type player.
 
Chris Johnston just said that Macarthur and Lupul will wear the 'A' this year.

Not surprised by Lupul, but I am a bit surprised Grabovski wont get an 'A'. I know hes not vocal, but hes a player with heart, gives it 100% every night, and isnt scared of anyone. Plus his interviews rock
