Dude we just had the Rantanen trade. Many claimed that Rantanen was the real deal while he played in Colorado and wasn't supposed to be carried by MacKinnon and Makar. Now reality sets in and everybody can see that Rantanen isn't all that special on his own. Draisaitl would crumble in a similar way if he was ever traded away from McDavid. McDavid is Batman while Draisaitl is Robin.

Draisaitl and Rantanen are different players entirely. Draisaitl has proved that he's elite in multiple ways. Without McDavid in the lineup over the last several years, he's nearly 2PPG. He's won Rosses, Harts, and Lindsays. Rantanen hasn't won a single individual award. You don't win individual awards with someone carrying you. Award winners are the ones doing the carrying. It's fairly simple logic.
