I thought Scherbak was killing it towards the end of the year? What about McCarron? I'd keep Scherbak and DLR over him on the roster.

Is Comrie ready? AHL stats are ehhhhh

No, he's not. Question if he ever will be, TBH

Frk really? He’s got a ripper of a shot and can score goals from the third line, don’t really see waiving him

He is a little one dimensional. Doesn't fit in top 6, and is a little wasted in a bottom 6 role. He has a decent compete level, and if he could hit the net more often with his shot, he could be a decent scorer.

Right now we have too many forwards and unless a trade is made, one will have to go through waivers.

But I could see Scherbak, Froese or Peca being placed on waivers. Outside chance of Deslauriers or de la Rose

Scherbak on waivers? I will smash a couple of objects in my house if they do that.

How do habs fans feel about a McCarron for bailey swap? Bailey brings speed and scoring potential, McCarron brings size and not much else. Sabres don't "need bailey" though giving up early is a meh choice...but they do need size and sandpaper...

Meh, we have enough Bailey types. I would move McCarron for literally any pick though, he's just not effective at the NHL level.

I agree with
Froese, Rychel, McCarron for F
Ouellet, Lernout, Benn, Schlemko for D

Pretty much in that order. Scherbak, Peca are safe Deslauriers pretty much too imo. I'd sure waive those D over Reilly.

FWD: McCarron, Froese, Rychel, Chaput, Agostino
D: Taormina, Valiyev, Lernout, Ouellet

With Weber injuries, I don't see Benn and Schlemko waived (unless one or all of Valiyev, Lernout, Ouellet stick, then Schlemko/Benn may be out by trade/waiver).
Reilly -Petry
Mete - Juulsen
Alzner - Benn
Schlemko

With Byron out to start the year, DLR, Deslauriers etc. are safe.

Might not have to, but if/when it comes time to making that decision, Wings aren't waiving someone who'll be slated to play 2-4 minutes more a game than Frk.

Last year, Frk averaged ~10:15, while the next highest was Bertuzzi at ~14:15. I think Frk gets a bump in ice time this year, but not a 4 minute bump.

With Detroit, it really depends what Larkin's cap hit ends up being.

IMO, worst case scenario is both Witkowski and Frk are waived.

It could also be one or the other, and it could also be no one gets waived at all.

I don’t really think waivers is how we would solve a Larkin contract/cap issue since we’d still need the bodies and their salaries are on the low end. If Larkin’s contract is the issue then I think you’re seeing a trade to resolve it. I see Frk and Witkowski being waived to make room for Svech and an extra defender like Cholowski or Hicketts.

Edit: For the record, I don’t think Larkin’s contract will be an issue.

Not Scherbak, Deslauriers or de la Rose.

But add Ouellet, Agostino, Chaput, Lernout, Taormina, Valiev, Rychel and McCarron.

This pretty much covers it, but do you see more than 1 being waived?

They have more than 24 players who are waiver eligible under contract.

Add to that 2-3 who are protected from waivers but are sure to be on the team (the name Matthews rings a bell ?).

So they'll have no choice but to waive more than one,

Looking at capfriendly guys that could be waived with random % chance of waivers:

Tyler Graovac (100% didn't even know this guy is a Flame)
Garnet Hathaway (25%)
Morgan Klimchuk (75%)
Dalton Prout (50%)
Alan Quine (100%)
Brett Kulak (10%)
David Rittich (40%)
Buddy Robinson (100% where do these random guys come from?)
Hunter Shinkaruk (95%)

Waiver: Froese, Rychel, McCarron, De La Rose

Def:

Petry- Mete (no waiver but will play nhl)
Alzner- Reilly
Ouellet- Schlemko
Valiev- Lernout
