Who Do You (Realistically) Want to be the Next Head Coach of the New York Rangers?

I voted for Gallant. There must be some unknown red flags that gets him fired so fast. Maybe give him a 2 year contract if he will take it. If he does well, extend him. I chose him because it was basically process of elimination, I don't like any of the other choices.
I see that Hartley was Martin's assistant for an AHL team. If Hartley gets the job maybe he will bring back Martin.
My first choice would be Brind'amour, second is Sullivan. Those two are not available and may not be available in the near future.

Rangers coach search: Gerard Gallant at top of list

Brooks says Gallant the front runner, Torts unlikely.
Sources have indicated that Gerard Gallant, who engineered the revival of the Panthers before taking the Golden Knights to the Cup final in the expansion team’s inaugural season, is at the top of the list and should expect an interview with Drury forthwith.
I talked with several individuals in the league familiar with Gallant. Their scouting reports were close to identical. To wit: Gallant is a no-nonsense guy who commands respect, communicates well with his players and staff but not necessarily the media and public. He is low-key and shuns the spotlight, but is not necessarily known for bringing structure to a team. He can coach prospects but cuts them little slack.

My top 3 in order would be Gallant, Boudreau, and Torts. None of the other options are all that intriguing and I doubt Knoblauch is on the list for the FO.

Watching Boudreau coach this team would be fantastically entertaining but I don't think they'd have much success in the playoffs. Handing Boudreau our offensive talent would lead to a ridiculous amount of offense though. Not my top choice for trying to win a cup but for enjoying the regular season he'd do a great job.

No to Roy
No to Crawford
No to Hartley

I think I would pick Gallant. Will give anyone a chance even the guys i said no to. Quinn did ok, but not sad to see him go.

Knoblauch certainly got results in his brief stint.

Didn't know much about him so I searched.

Hallam leads Växjö to a third title

"So where is Hallam’s greatness? There are several qualities that make him an excellent coach. He is a brilliant communicator, and he has shown that he can work equally efficiently with veterans as well as with young players. Just look at what Hallam did with Elias Pettersson before the player left for Vancouver.
There are observers who say that his teams play an overly academic or calculating style of hockey and, although there may be some truth to it, no one with the Lakers seems to care. The three championship titles in six years are solid proof of that. They are a team that relies on puck possession, opportunistic scoring and a suffocating defence."

The poll has 11 options (+other), and let's just say I'd rather him before everyone else except Hartley and Gallant. But I'd be shocked if the Rangers were the first organization to hire a European HC since forever.

Whoever the coach is gonna be: I expect its going to be done fairly quickly.

They probably want the coach around when they start acquisitions over the summer.

So, its unlikely that someone like Brind'Amour would even be looked at. I don't think FO is going be that patient to gamble on availability.

It looks like Gallant, but the fact that he(apparently)shuns analytics: Rangers may pass.

Gallant is my guy, but I am not sold on him not bringing structure to a team. Did we not witness what happened in Florida and Vegas? Those teams were finely tuned machines. His style is pressure forechecking. Give me all of that and then some.

He is my #1 choice. Torts is #2. The other choices do not interest me. I'd have to see if some other options open up after the playoffs. I'd bring Sullivan in if he was let go.

Gallant.

He'll hold guys accountable and make sure the boys aren't baby shit soft. He had a good run with Expansion Vegas. I was shocked when they let him go.

They just won the division. Unless the Islanders sweep them like in 2019, he won't be fired.

Twilight Zone playoff can choices:

1. Jon Cooper
2. Bruce Cassidy
3. Brind’ Amour
4. Trotz
5. Pete Debeor
6. Mike Sullivan
7. Quennville

(5,6,7 interchangeable)

could be missing some, what we think fellas
What are the chances one of these guys could be canned out of the blue from an early exit? Sullivan I would think realistically.

I would love for our team to play how Vegas did under Gallant. Constant pressure, constantly swarming. Coming at the opposition in seemingly relentless waves. They were a treat to watch and the system was very effective.

they kinda had the personnel for that style. A lot of Jasper Fast types, big on the boards and a few with speed. A collection of workmanlike players who always had to earn their stripes and made a team of them. Pretty awesome. Was kinda like moneyball.

Gallant has some red flags to be fired from Vegas for seemingly no reason and replaced with their rivals head coach, as well as the whole Florida-Uber situation. And the fact he still hasn’t got another job. This is a pretty ugly list regardless

I wouldn’t mind Bruce Bourdeau for like 2 years and see if a better coaching option is available then. He’s great at coaching offense and he’s good at getting his teams to make the playoffs.
Kind of where my head is at. Has he indicated interest in getting back behind the bench?

The Eichel bandwagon must have received a paint job with the letters spelling out Gallant.

It’s legit. He just messaged me an hour ago. Gerald flew him down as a guest to Vegas a few times. They talk every other day. He talked to Gerald this afternoon. We figure Seattle earlier but I would think Turk (Gerald’s nickname) would take New York if offered
