I think there is blame to go around. Maybe the least amount of blame to Lavlolette.
This all started unraveling with Goodrow and pretty much reached the point of no return when Trouba was dealt. I liked both deals but it created a wedge between the players and the GM and whatever communication issues between the players and GM before things have gone completely sour and the players are making Drury pay. He is toxic in a Babcock way now and I don't believe he'll ever have another NHL GM job down the line. There is such a thing as a bad boss and that bad boss vibe more than anything is what's stinking out this year's team. The players really don't like him. Insinuations on how Chris has used the CBA to move players seem part of the problem. Either or he's had fences to mend and he hasn't done so.
I think he has to go. There's no forward with him anymore. Laviolette I expect to be fired too. Don't think all that much is his fault but...... I would remove Housley for sure.
Many of our core players going into this season have to go too. If you've shut down like Mika and Kreider it's not acceptable. Mika might be more about decline but his game completely collapsed well before anyone else.
We should make the management moves as soon as possible. I don't believe there's anything Drury can do to save this year. Just as well off bringing a new GM in or even Sather back to finish out the year. The players you'd want to get the best deals possible. The deadline is getting closer and those moves should be coming too. I do think we need to keep some framework of a team together.

Agree with all of this.
In regards to Mika, I want to be convinced he isn’t quitting - but everything I’ve seen from him this season and at points prior shows me he has checked out mentally.
I don’t think it’s a case of him thinking too much or caring too much. I’ve seen too many plays he’s flat out given up on. Too many instances where he’s looking to pass blame. His game has cratered.
There is no consistent push back nor is he instilling any will to knock players off pucks and digging aggressively to regain possession. He’s just going through the motions and the fact that he’s still got an A on his sweater is appalling

I think that demonstrates how knowledgeable Ranger fans are. It's second nature to blame the coach. Assuming this continues, he will obviously be fired, but it was the players who let him down.

I dunno I dont' want to assume that he's just been distracted by other things in his life but man he just looks like if it doesn't come easy he doesn't wanna do it. It's distressing. It's cringe to watch.
I think it'd be different if we hadn't already seen this group implode with another coach. It wasn't this bad but it was still the same kind of stuff.

I spent my childhood hoping Glen Sather would be fired.
It's f***ing insane that he wound up being better than not just the GM we got after him, but the next two GMs.
Slats signed way-past-their-prime FAs to massive contracts every off-season, but Gorton and Drury's signings are just as poor. However, Slats was at least a good trader - it was more common for him to pull off a ridiculous steal like Gomez for McDonagh out of nowhere than for him to lose a trade.
Meanwhile Drury gives away Kakko for nothing and all our 1st and 2nd round picks every year for shitty rentals. I can't think of a single trade Drury has won. He isn't a winner. He sucks.

Drury is the head of the snake here. His trades and awful NMC contracts have paralyzed this team for years.

Canucks are in a playoff spot and Allvin just went to Sportsnet to rip the team leaders. I can't believe Drury would do such a thing!
I’m very surprised that there are way more votes here for the players than for Drury.
Players - they are what they are. This team is nowhere on par in terms of talent with teams like Colorado, Toronto, Florida, etc. That’s a fact.
Drury - as others have mentioned, he has lost every trade. But it goes way beyond that. The way he has treated the players has alienated most, if not all of them. If the players don’t have any belief in what the GM is doing, they are not going to give 100% in the games.
One more thing:
The easiest and most obvious thing Drury should have done by now is name a new captain (with input from players and coach). The team clearly lacks leadership right now. A captain who can motivate the team but also somehow maybe repair some of the communication issues between GM and players is sorely needed …

The players should have no opinion on what the GM does. Drury sucks too but thats just another scapegoat. The team quit because he dared to question them. The players are better than this but still not good enough and everyone knows it. It was just hard for them to hear.
And there isnt a captain on this team for Drury to name. that's part of the problem. Player's who should be leading aren't. They let Trocheck, who doesnt even wear an A, speak for the group. The most accountable players are rookies. Poor locker room culture that predates Drury and our last 3 coaches.
Coaches name captains. Not gms. Gms are not in the room with the team and most likely doesnt have as good a feel for the inner workings of the team. If there is bad blood between players etc.
Coach reports up to GM to fill him in, but most gms dont have a ton of contact with the players.
Actually not necessarily true. GM can name a captain by nhl rules.

Hockey is supposed to be fun. It's fun to watch other teams play with passion and joy. Bedard will be like a pig in shit today for the Winter Classic despite his team being bad and God bless him. Our team is a bunch of introspective, unhappy bastards. Idk what did this. Probably the expectation among the veterans that the pressure was on them to be "The Team" when the Letter went out. There was a brief time when it looked like it was happening pre-covid but they lost the old school Torts-era leadership when Henrik, Staal and Fast departed before the season with no fans that set us off the rails. There's been locker room problems ever since.
Ever since they lost to the Devils in 23 and Gallant called the team out it felt like they didnt have what it took and the Florida series last year was smack to the face of reality for a lot of the organization. It hasn't been handled well by anyone. More changes need to happen because there is a very salvageable strong young foundation with more on the way Mika, K'Andre, Lindgren, Kreider and Panarin are all the current culprits in their own way and need to go over the next 18 months.
This is not even to mention the obvious cowardice with a lot of members of the team's core leadership after the Panarin/Wilson incident. Everyone who stood up for the team was jettisoned that summer. Has much changed since then? You can't deny the impact that moment had on the organization; which by the way got the entire hierarchy, including franchise legend John Davidson fired and drew a statement from Dolan. The veterans probably orchestrated the whole coup because they are clearly running things. They also got Gallant canned. He sure seems vindicated now. I mean, how has Zibanejad not been benched?
It's just a mess. Fire them all players GM coach and let the kids play and have fun again. Bad and fun is preferable to bad and an embarrassment to the game of hockey.

Yeah at some point you need to scrap all of your preconceived notions and just go with the hot hands and the players who have earned the extra time and opportunity.
Otherwise you are just feeding into the shit habits on this team and enabling the quit we have witnessed from some players
