Don Beaupre and Gilles Meloche is one off the weaker tandems, as is Jon Casey and Brian Hayward.

Granted the teams they played had a hall of fame goalie opposing them both times.

Going through the years, I think 2010 takes it. Niemi really was Chicago's starter because their other option was Cristobal Huet. Michael Leighton was the Flyers backup, as Ray Emery was lost for the season in February. 2016 on paper sounds underwhelming, Matt Murray vs. Martin Jones, but both were in good form at the time and their play during the SCF wasn't bad. Jones especially is the reason that series made it 6 games.

Never understood people hating on Niemi, wasn't prime Roy out there but he wasn't any worse than Osgood or Emery who had just been to the Finals in the years before and he was great in 2010-11 with the Sharks until the playoffs hit

Leighton was basically an AHLer, 1997 was pretty rough for the Flyers too between washed Hextall and Garth Snow

Grant Fuhr. Cory Crawford. Dan Cloutier.

I would argue Tom Barasso too. Mario said he should share the conn smyth trophy with him when he won it but when he became owner of the team he shipped him off to Ottawa.
I get that this was the style in his time (see Grant Fuhr) but the Calder winner's size was able to be exploited properly yet as the oversized equipment wearing butterfly style was just becoming a thing. It was defense in front of him - i.e. the Samuelsons (one of them wearing oversized equipment) - that put them over the top as winners.
(Obviously, Detroit brought in Mike Vernon and Dominic Hasek.)

You don't need a great goalie to win the cup - a great goalie can get you to the finals: guys like Richard Brodeur, Hasek in Buffalo and Hextall got their teams there - but the goalie only has to be just good enough with a great team in front of him. All of the above won cups.

Crawford was very good during the 2013-15 stretch. His only bad playoff was 2012. Always was an above average/good starter.
