Inspired by a discussion I had on the topic in my team's board got me wondering what is the general opinion about the ranking of the top 15 centers in the league currently.

I find it is a tougher exercise to rank them than to go simply by tier. So here is my attempt:

1. McDavid
2. Mackinnon
3. Draisaitl
4. Barkov
5. Matthews
6. Hughes
7. Eichel
8. Crosby
9. Point
10. Aho

11-15 gets harder IMO, with options like Kopitar, Reinhart, Necas, Scheifele, Suzuki, Larkin, Stutzle, Celibrini and Bedard all ranking similarily.

But if I had to chose I think the remaining 4 would go to Kopitar, Suzuki, Celibrini and Stutzle.

What is yours.

By currently do you mean, which centers would you want for the rest of the season or something else?

Off the top of my head I think guys like Hischer and even EP40 might be in the mix, TT, Wyatt Johnston and Miller as well?

Yes for the rest of the season. Contract and age aside. Just ranking the 15 best current centers in the league.

Well I'll take your top 10

Then Kopitar, Reinhart, Scheifele and then it gets tricky.

Maybe Suzuki and a head on straight JT Miller.

Ask me in 10 minutes and I might have 2 different guys though as a lot of guys are very interchangeable.

I've already changed my mind and would take Wyatt Johnston instead of JT Miller.

I’ll take your top 10, then add:
11. Reinhart
12. Stützle
13. Scheifele
14. Thomas
15. Thompson

Except Reinhart almost never has played center in the NHL.

Brayden Point has the seventh most goals in the entire league since 2020-2021 (I think 5th in G/GP by my math) and he's not even in half of your top 10s. I hear he's also pretty decent in the playoffs, too. I know I'm a Tampa fan, but do better. There's no universe where he's not a top 10 center in the NHL. Aho, Scheifele, Miller, and Hischier ahead of him? Gimme a break. Miller wasn't even ahead of him in the lineup in Tampa when Point was 21 years old. He's on pace for his fourth 40 goal season in 8 full years in the league. Might even crack 50 again.
