I tried to think of a good metric to determine the top 10 teams of the 20’s so far. Best i could think of was looking at which teams have won the most games in both regular season and playoffs. Here are the top 10 teams for combined regular season and playoff wins since 2020. Do you think this stat accurately represents the best teams of the 20’s? Which team(s) in the top 10 dont belong there and who would you replace them with?

1. Avalanche
2. Lightning
3. Bruins
4. Hurricanes
5. Panthers
6. Golden Knights
7. Oilers
8. Stars
9. Rangers
10. Leafs

I agree teams with cups should get a little bump. So as a Canes fan the Cats and Knights should be above the Canes, Stars above the Oilers and the Bolts at the top of the list.

No obvious missed though so all in all a good list.
I think the teams are mostly right just in the wrong order. I'd go:

1. Tampa
2. Colorado
3. Florida
4. Vegas
5. Edmonton
6. Dallas
7. Boston
8. Carolina
9. NYR
10. NYI

Well sure, but on a list of the top teams of the last 5 years wins and cup should really be the only thing you measure on. Unless you are the Leafs then you add respect, but they are still 10th on that list.
I think I would have the isles ahead of them since they have two ECFs

I'm not the only one who thought, "There weren't 10 teams in the (19)20s..."

Right? ..... Right?

Funny enough, there actually were. The league from 1926-1930:

Boston Bruins
Chicago Black Hawks
Detroit Cougars (future Red Wings)
Montreal Canadiens
Montreal Maroons
Ottawa Senators
Pittsburgh Pirates
Toronto Maple Leafs
New York Americans
New York Rangers

It gradually dropped from 10 to 6 during the Depression and WWII.

South Jersey
1. Tampa Bay(2 Cups and a SCF loss)
2. Florida(Cup and SCF loss)
3. Colorado(Cup, better regular seasons than Vegas)
4. Vegas(Cup)
5. Dallas(SCF loss and 2 WCF losses)
6. Edmonton(SCF loss and WCF loss)
7. NY Rangers(Two ECF losses)
8. Carolina(ECF loss, regular season greatness)
9. NY Islanders(Two ECF losses, but mid in regular season)
10. Boston(great regular seasons)

Toronto has won one round all decade. Montreal has the SCF loss, but come on they haven't come close to making the playoffs since then.

Habs over Leafs.

One SC Finals appearance, one President's Trophy runner-up season for the Habs.(Edit: My bad. I initially read it as since 2000...not 2020. Still, really doesn't change anything. The Habs have been demonstratedly more successful.)

Zero meaningful successes for the Leafs. Multiple playoff chances only to expose themselves as 'Cup pretenders year after year.

To much weight on regular season.
Maybe give playoff series wins or playoff wins a much stronger weight.

Playoff wins

Toronto
1) Tampa
2) Florida
3) Vegas
4) Colorado
5) Boston
6) Edmonton
7) New York Rangers
8) Carolina
9) Dallas
10) Toronto

Leafs should not be in any top 10
They are right around the 10 range, lowest I'd put them is maybe 13 but consistent playoff team that had some tough series.

Consistent playoff team might not be the right word at ~50%
