Who are the CORE Players?

  • HFBoards is doing server maintenance Thursday March 13th at 9 AM GMT 5 AM EDT. Downtime is to be expected during the process. Server changes were implemented recently to cope with the traffic surge last week. This seems to be affecting the user login, so please anyone experiencing this, log out and clear the browser cache. We expect to have this issue solved once the maintenance is complete.
  • We are currently aware of "log in/security error" issues that are affecting some users. We apologize and ask for your patience as we try to get these issues fixed.
I suppose it's all about how you define "core".

For me, our core is:

Dahlin

That's it. That's the list. Dahlin is the ONE player you build around. I could entertain the idea of Benson maybe possibly being a core forward just based on his Marchand-esque potential. I could entertain the idea of Tage being a core forward because of his scoring ability and that insanely good contract.

But everyone else is moveable and fungible.

Pretty much just Dahlin but it'd most likely be counter productive to trade Tage too as he's the only offensive game breaker we have at forward.

Outside of that although they aren't untouchable for a hockey trade that makes us better, Tuch, Benson, McCloud and Greenway are guys I could see playing important roles on a playoff team. Hopefully it's with us.

What are the tiers? Is it like EHM where it's Key, Core, Regulars? Then our core is Tage, Tuch, UPL, and maybe JJP. Too early to say on Norris. Key is Dahlin.

Fingers crossed it turns into Dahlin, Benson and Kulich.

I think for now Dahlin, Tage is debatable. I don't think he would be traded.
