Winner - I'll take the 1936-39 Yankees (the batting order is listed above) although some think other Yankees teams (such as the 1927 and 1998) are better.

Loser - I'll take the 1997-98 Braves (the batting order is listed above) although some think other Braves teams (such as the 1993) are better.

Basing these picks off what I have seen in my lifetime; As a Red Sox fan, I begrudgingly pick the 98 Yankees as the best Series winner, a ridiculous 114-48 record, and then 11-2 in post-season, including a series sweep. Just the most dominant team I can remember seeing.

For the best losing team, I'd pick the 1995 Cleveland Indians, really good team with 100 wins in the short season. That was just a tough time to catch a Braves team that dominated that decade with their 3 hall of fame pitchers

Funny enough, the braves were pretty unlucky that decade too, only winning 1 world series during the 90's despite winning all those division titles

Best World Series winner: Very tough to pick, however, I'll pick the 1927 Yankees. HM: 98 Yankees (very close, I like their pitching staff better, but hard to go against the 27 Yankees lineup.), 76 Reds, 89 Athletics.

Best World Series loser: 1960 Yankees - they put up a 97-57 record in the regular season, winning the AL pennant by a comfortable 8 games. They followed this up by outscoring the Pirates 55-27 in their seven game series, only to lose in seven games. They followed this up with winning the World Series in the next two seasons. They also won the 1958 World Series, so a win here gives them four titles in five seasons. HM: 1906 Cubs (116-36 record, then won the next two World Series).

I’d like to put the 1929 and 1930 Philadelphia Athletics as one of the best World Series winners, this team is usually forgotten.

Best series loser I’d say the 1971 Baltimore Orioles, with 4-20 game winning pitchers to lose in 7 games to Pittsburgh.

It really is a shame the BRM didn't win more than 2 titles. You had basically 4 hall of famers as a core, and an excellent supporting cast.
