Inspired by the hilarious thought of a guy like McDavid coming back from injury and being sent to the AHL to score 20 points a game, I am wondering who some of the best to ever do it were and how they did? It seems typically teams don't send down guys over a certain level of pedigree.

Bonus points for pictures of players in an AHL jersey for the only few games they played in their career in the AHL on a conditioning loan

It's not quite a conditioning stint, but Jordan Eberle tore up the AHL in the lockout shortened year with 51 points in 34 games. Justin Schultz had 48 in 34 as a D-man.

Apparently Byfuglien was on a conditioning stint in the AHL for 2007.
I mean yes he played in the AHL seasons before that.
but his final 8 games are recorded as a conditioning stint
can't find a photo in a rockford jersey, he never looked back after that.
