Lots of questions about what this player's future holds. Which team listed should be the most motivated to retain the services of the 28 year old RHD making 4.55 AAV the rest of this season and the next and want to get started on a extension for him?

I say the team that is an Andersson away from the cup. People are going to say Dallas but Andersson can't fill the hole with Heiskanen gone

The Canadiens need a RD like him in a BAD way.

Our #1 RD is actually a LD. The only RD that we have are Carrier and Savard (who's UFA at the end of the season and is too old for what they're trying to build away). The only prospects we have on RD are Reinbacher and Konyushkov. Mailloux is not going to make it imo.

Acquiring Andersson and moving on from Savard would push Carrier to the 3rd pairing, which would be ideal. Of all the players that might be available, Andersson is easily one of the better fits for Montreal. Of course, it's a pipe dream, but the fit would be exceptional.

All of the above except Buffalo. Calgary should probably just keep him if they can but I wouldn't be surprised if they get some offers that are tough to turn down.

Detroit needs somebody behind Seider, but I don't see them extending him long term, which means they probably wouldn't give what Calgary wants.

ASP is still the long term plan behind Seider.

Why would that be stupid
Because the last thing that organization needs is to stumble into the 8th seed and get killed.

But I know that fanbase takes pride in being in the mushy middle for eternity and not blowing it up, while simultaneously complaining about it all the time.

Not all of us, I'm on team blow it the f*** up but Wolf is legitimately keeping us in the playoff race so the organization is hesitant to pull the trigger on these kinds of trades because of "what kind of message" it'll send to the team.

If Calgary would kindly just gift Kadri and Andersson to the Avs it would be much appreciated

It's crazy to me that Kadri back to the Avs with Mittelstadt back to Calgary solves things for both teams.
And yet here we are. Flames unwilling to trade their older guys because Dustin Wolf should be in Hart and Vezina discussions.
