Which Team Has Best All-Time Lineup?

Pens are loaded at Center and only the Oilers can compete with that. Mario, Sid, Malkin and Francis all HOF players or will be. Add in Jagr, Kessel, Mullen Stevens, the wrecking ball as scorers on the wing and that folks is an embarrassment of riches.

They wouldn’t be able to “wreck” them because they wouldn’t get within 5 feet of them

Can you imagine bobby Clarke trying to skate with McDavid?

You don't really believe that do you? And there are corners and places were even the fastest players in the world can get wrecked.

This is what Bobby Clarke, and others, did to guys they couldn't keep up with:

The Sabres obviously wouldn't be anywhere near the best (though Hasek alone would probably make this bunch competitive against the other all-time teams), but making a roster anyway because seems fun.

Martin - Perreault - Robert
Hawerchuk - LaFontaine - Mogilny
Ramsay - Turgeon - Gare
Andreychuk - Peca - Foligno (Mike)

Housley - Horton
Schoenfeld - Ramsey
Hajt - idk Geuvermont? Zhitnik?

Hasek
Barrasso

You could probably just combine the 2004 and 2018 Lightning teams without missing too many all-timers for us. Still, the Lightning have had their fair share of superstars in their relatively short history.

Can we just all agree that Boston has the best alltime defense roster?

Bourque-Orr
Shore-Chara
Park-Wesley

Something feels wrong about including Glen Wesley in that group...

I think Pittsburgh has the greatest collection of names. Maybe superior to Montreal because of the magnitude of greats: Lemieux, Crosby, Jagr, Francis, Malkin, Stevens, Kovalev, Mullen, Kessel, Recchi, Tocchet, Trottier, Naslund, Coffey, Murphy, Zubov, Letang, Gonchar, Carlyle, Barrasso, Fleury, Murray.

Think Red Kelly gets in somewhere in there, maybe on D.
Kessel can probably replace Damphousse, who was quite good with Marois but played his best in MTL. Or Vaive, who scored a lot when everyone was scoring a lot.
Yeah, I was thinking about Kelly the whole time but decided not to add him. Kessel, on the other hand, I want nowhere near the Leafs all-time team.

Here's mine:

Robitaille-Gretzky-Sandstrom
Simmer-Dionne-Taylor
Berry-Kopitar-Brown
Frolov-Carter-Palffy

Extras:Nicholls, Fox, Mike Murphy, Goring

Blake-Norstrom
Doughty-Larry Murphy
Harper-McSorely

Extras:Hardy, Duchesne

Quick
Vachon

I'd do the Isles a little different :

Tavares-Trottier-Bossy
Lafontaine-Turgeon-Gilles
Pallfy-Weight-Tonelli
Nystrom-Goring-Flately

Potvin/Chara
Morrow/Persson
Jonnson/Kasparitis

Smith/Luongo

Coach - Al Arbour, GM - Bill Torrey, Announcer - Jiggs McDonald

Not the most talented team but would be tough as nails and probably best coached. Would be a seriously tough team to play against.

LA...using only players who were still good:

Carson-Gretzky-Kurri
Kopitar-Dionne-Palffy
Robitaille-Nicholls-Sandstrom
Richards-Allison-Carter
Deadmarsh, Simmer

Coffey-Blake
Murphy-Doughty
Duschene-Hardy
Norstrom

Quick
Vachon

Interestingly there are multiple Norris trophy winners on that blue line.
No Dave Taylor? Really?

Then they better be taking shots from 50 feet out...cause eventually they may have to slow down, and get near a defenseman who won't have to sprint with them.

Weight over Bourne in an islander uniform? Over Sutter?

Slightly off topic, but with Hejduk's number being retired, the Avs' retired jersey lineup is:

Forsberg-Sakic-Hejduk

Foote-Bourque

Roy

And I'll be damned if there are many single lines that could go toe-to-toe with that one.

Cool, so he’d be kicked out of the league instead.

The correct answer is the Red Wings :)

Lindsay - Yzerman- Howe

Delvecchio - Zetterberg - Abel

Datsyuk - Fedorov - Larionov

Aurie - Ullman - Shanahan

Lidstrom - Kelly

Stewart - Pronovost

Konstantinov - Larson

Sawchuk
Osgood
Hasek

With a nice group of reserves

Being a bit biased but seriously that’s hard to beat

Alfredsson should be on the 4th line.

(And yes Wings is the right answer)

Gillies-Trottier-Bossy

Potvin - Morrow

That isn't a terrible line to put out either! Scary thing is they actually all did play together thus the 4 cups in a row and 19 consecutive playoff series wins thats remains unparalleled in the history of all professional sports.

Cool, so he’d be kicked out of the league instead.

And McD would be out for the season, and his speed would be diminished for the rest of his career, and Crosby would be living in his house with a nurse wiping his drool.

All I'm saying is, it wouldn't be the cake walk you think it would be.

MTL not only has as good of forwards, but a drastically better defense and goalie tandem than Pit would ice the hommerism you have is very apparent. What is even more hilarious is that brooks orpik is on an all time team

LOL and brooks orpik is not on any pens all time team
