:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: wanted out and wanted only 1 team.

What could have Ottawa done? I think Ottawa did well all things considered:

Ottawa did as well as they could
It's not a critique of their GM

The question is:

Which team got the better value in the B. Tkachuk trade?

And the answer is: Florida, for sure

Technically speaking I'd take the player over the picks, but considering he was walking away they at least got a good chunk of picks for him with one being in the top-10. I'd say it's equal value based on that fact.

Brady is talked about, as if he's Mattys level.

Ottawa did just fine, I'd say fair value

A package of only picks is bad value for a team trying to compete anyway you cut it.
I think people also overrate the late 1st and the 2029 pick. In Ottawa's shoes I'd easily have taken Samoskevich or Luostarinen or someone instead of those assets.

I’d say fair/Ottawa wins but I have always thought Brady was a bit overrated. He recently really stunk in the playoffs too.

Personally I’d slightly prefer to have the 9th pick alone vs what’s left on Brady’s contract. The other stuff probably isn’t worth all that much anyways but it’s a nice bonus.

3 firsts and a second for a non superstar, guaranteed no sign with a 4 team trade list seems pretty f***ing good! That’s a lot of trade capital.
Picks have not helped the Sens build much to date. They need to focus much harder on their management game.
