I checked the long range forecast for hell and there is no signs of frost so I will NOT be cheering for:
Edmonton, Toronto, or Vegas.

I picked Florida, well just because.

it's a minus if we end up trading for FLA's first.
Fair - but GM’s look at the total value of whatever they’re getting back. According to draft value chart, going from 19 to 29 is equivalent to a late 2nd round pick. I’d almost prefer a late 1st and late 2nd, versus 18th. This way can recoup some of the picks lost. Jets currently have a 1, 3, two 5’s and a 7 in 2023 draft. Don’t have a 2nd rounder in 2024 either.

Both Canadian teams. It's been so long....

Also, it would be a shame if McDavid goes his whole career without a cup and the leafs have such a long drought.

Two of my kids mentioned cheering for the Leafs. I told them that I have no problem moving up the "empty nester" timeline

No downside to cheering for the Panthers. It means cheering against the Leafs, as well as further vindicating PoMo

Panthers -
Wasn't planning on watching much PO hockey at this point but this adds some interest for me.
Knowing the Jets are done, and If I was watching the remaining PO's unfold form 10,000 ft, and I didn't know who was playing who, my wish would be for the Panthers to do well and the Leafs to crash and burn.
So this series is perfect -

I'm changing my pick. San Jose was my team when the Jets were gone and I've followed Pavelski since he was a rookie. I want Pavelski to win a cup. Guy's incredible.

I started following hockey when I was a kid. We didn't have any live games on TV back in the 90s, so therefore I used to get some info from sport magazines. Unfortunately they hardly ever wrote about the NHL though. Anyway, we managed to buy NHL player cards and I liked the panthers the most, because their old logo was awesome.

I have had a soft spot for them ever since.

I love the Panthers old logo. They’re also my brother’s favourite team (after the Jets) so that’s a fine reason to root for them.

Don't really care who wins from those left, whichever fanbase will be the least obnoxious about it I guess.

I'm cheering for the Panthers in the East and the Stars in the West.

I really don't care too much, but I’ll be pulling for Edmonton in the west and Florida in the east. If it gets that far, I’ll be happy if Mo gets a Cup.
