Washington Capitals vs Montreal Canadiens: (Interest level 10/10) I'm obviously biased in this one.

Toronto Maple Leafs vs Ottawa Senators: (Interest level 8/10) There should be a lot of hate. Whichever team makes it through could be severely banged up for round 2.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs Florida Panthers: (Interest level 7/10) Another solid rivalry between two elite teams.

Los Angeles Kings vs Edmonton Oilers: (Interest level 7/10) Is the 4th time the charm for the Kings? There should be no love lost in this one.

Dallas Stars vs Colorado Avalanche: (Interest level 7/10) Two other great teams + the Rantanen angle.

Winnipeg Jets vs St-Louis Blues: (Interest level 6/10) It would be nice to see the Jets with some playoff success.

Vegas Golden Knights vs Minnesota Wild: (Interest level 3/10) Meh.

Carolina Hurricanes vs New Jersey Devils: (Interest level 1/10) Also meh.

Outside of Toronto/Ottawa (Leafs fan).

I think Tampa/Florida is the obvious one for the roughness.

I also think Oilers/Kings could get out of hand.

Stars/Avalanche could be some great hockey.

...honestly, almost every Series looks good on paper at least...

Toronto vs Ottawa: Battle of Ontario, lots of hate
Tampa vs Florida: Battle of Florida, lots of hate
Washington vs Montreal: Caps - BEASTS of the East or Paper Tigers PLUS the "Ghost of Halak" angle
Dallas vs Colorado: Bloodbath Divisional PLUS Dallas banged up angle
Winnipeg vs St. Louis: Return of 2019 St Louis/Binnington?? PLUS Winnipeg/Hellebuyck Playoff Fails angle
Vegas vs Minnesota: Healthy Minny equals Underrated Series (Defensive GRIND) PLUS MAF Last Cup angle
Los Angeles vs Edmonton: Can LA slay the McDragon angle PLUS Edmonton banged up angle

...even Carolina vs Jersey has an angle or two, it just doesn't scream excitement, especially with a banged up Jersey...1st Round looks awesome, imo...

Most is Tampa - Florida and Colorado - Dallas.

Least would be the 2 Matro series. The other 4 are intriguing though.

It's fine, Buffalo fans need to look forward to something...

Every other fanbase, not acceptable, but for you guys, there should be an exception.

To the single Arizona fan, if you migrated with the team, you're fine too I guess.

There are dozens of us. Dozens!

Anyway, I'll give this thread a shot.

1. Tampa Bay vs. Florida (10/10) - Bolts are my husband's team and therefore my second team, so it's at the top by default.
2. Toronto vs. Ottawa (10/10) - Battle of Ontario!
3. Carolina vs. New Jersey (9/10) - I think this matchup will be surprisingly entertaining.
4. Dallas vs. Colorado (9/10) - two of the western heavyweights going at it!
5. Vegas vs. Minnesota (8/10) - Minnesota getting so many players back at the right time could make things fun.
6. Los Angeles vs. Edmonton (8/10) - round 4... fight! Enough said.
7. Winnipeg vs. St. Louis (8/10) - interested to see if St. Louis getting hot late in the regular season can translate to a good playoff fight.
8. Washington vs. Montreal (7/10) - I don't know what to say about this series but I find it impossible to rate my interest in playoff hockey any lower than 7 in principle. However, it's the least interesting of the eight series to me personally.

Damn, we're similar.

The only differences are I'd bump TOR/OTT up to 10 , WSH/MTL down to 8 and FLA/TB up to 9.

I think this year’s first round has the most appeal it’s had in a long time. You gotta love that theres 2 series featuring provincial/state rivals. The Colorado vs Dallas heavyweight battle with Rantanen storyline. Oilers vs Kings will have as much (if not more) bad blood as the previous 3 mentioned.

After that the intrigue level drops a bit for me, but if I had to pick the next most appealing series, I might have to go with Habs vs Caps. Young, upstart team that wasn’t supposed to make it vs a team that’s won it all before.

I think the beauty of playoff hockey is how unpredictable it is. Most neutral fans here (me included) probably don't have a ton of interest in Canes/Devils but all of a sudden, that could go to a thrilling game 7 and the tone will shift.

I remember not caring all that much about Dallas/Calgary a couple years ago and the Oettinger performance ended up being one of the most memorable moments of that postseason.

With that said, to answer the question-

Tier 1

Battle of Ontario
Battle of Florida
COL/DAL
EDM/LA

Tier 2

WSH/MTL
WPG/STL
VGK/MIN
CAR/NJ

April 26th, they have 4 games starting with the first one starting at 1 PM EST and the 4th one starting at 9:30 EST with 2 games in between. That's a marathon of hockey I'll be watching all day (with a nap in between).
