Just a dumb hypothetical thread for fun in the offseason..

Assuming all of this happens in the current era of hockey, which of these records would be the most impressive?

Previous point streak record: 51 points by Gretzky in 1983-84

Previous shutout record: 22 by Hainsworth in 1926.
Most this century is 12 shutouts by Brodeur.

Previous goalscoring record by a defenseman: 48 goals by Paul Coffey

Forgot to add the last bit for the 5th option. Its 70 goals by a dman>30 shutouts>82 game point streak

Would the 82 game point streak be all in a single season?
Yes cause I assume it wouldn't even be an official record if it extended to the next season?

All of the official streak records happened in one season if I'm not mistaken (other than the ironman streak)

Give it 10 years and the league environment could be totally different. There were three scoring environments from 2004-10.
i dunno, goalies playing most of the season are kinda getting rarer it seems
45 goalies broke over 30 games started
30 over 40
20 over 50
5 over 60

Playoff monster Hellebuyck had 8 shutouts in another vezina season and he started 62 games

Most goalies dont even have 30 shutouts in their career
Boobtitsky has like 49 and hes been in the league forever, Vasi on some great tampa teams has 40 in his entire career

A goalie hitting 15 shutouts would be more impressive than a defenseman hitting 60 goals to me

Since you put it that way, 30 shutouts does seem rather improbable. If I could, I'd change my vote to 30 shutouts>70 goals>82 game point streak.

Yeah I agree, goalies aren’t playing 60+ games as the norm anymore. 10 shutouts in a season would be amazing, 30 would be insanity
