Value of: Which offersheet amount do you think would work for Will Cuylle (NYR) and Mavrik Bourque (DAL) ? And which teams do you think should target them ?

Rangers will have to overpay like CRAZY WACKY WAHOOO to move that Goodrow contract

Rangers will have to overpay like BONKERS to move that Trouba contract

But this time it’s for real… because trust me. Kreider would return the highest value, and people are apparently going to be raging that “the Rangers can’t keep getting away with it!”

I’d offer Cullye a 6 x 7 if i was a good enough team not to care about losing a first / 3rd. Maybe even the full amount @ 6.8.

I know many would criticize it and it would depend on the team and cap structure but I think this guy will be a major stud and with a rising cap, I think it would work.

A 6x7 offer sheet would be a 1, 2, and 3 round pick based on last year’s comp table. Aside from that, I’m fairly confident the Rangers still match that. You’d probably need to be at 5x9 at a minimum to get the Rangers to consider the draft picks instead.

Anything longer than 5 years, say a 7 year contract, would also likely need to be $8M+, at which point you are talking 4 1sts as compensation…

Kreider has two years remaining at $6.5 mil per.

His production numbers fell sharply last year. That said he had some injuries.

In the three previous years he played 242 regular season games--scored 127 goals (a 42.3 goal per season pace) 79 assists and 206 points. Playoffs 43 games played 24 goals (pro rates better than his regular season numbers) 13 assists and 37 points. Pretty near a point per game pace in the playoffs.

Maybe there was some decline---maybe the injuries---maybe some team dysfunction---maybe a combination of factors. But if Kreider rebounds that $6.5 will look like a real bargain. Two years is not that long either and not necessarily a hard contract to move midway through next season. Kreider was a money goal scorer going into 24-25. Players do have down years and the Rangers this past season were a hot mess. It's not like there isn't some risk but I think there will be teams willing to gamble on him.

Dallas is actually the only team where I see an offer sheet could work out.

Because of the actual fast rise of the salary cap, there's no more team that are cap strapped.

Dallas is the only one.

And since Bourque isn't a sure thing, just like Broberg and Holloway were last summer, he'd be a prime candidate for a similar offer.

I think a 3,5 mil offer sheet would get the job done.

And if Bourque ends up being a bottom 6er, 3,5 mil is still not too bad.

Both NY and Dallas will have some hard decisions made and names moved out if these players re-sign. Too little cap space with either team as currently constructed.

Bruins would happily take them both.

A Cuylle offer sheet is going to get matched by the Rangers he is a young all around power fwd who plays a heavy game....Borque should be an easier get with a decent aav...
